Is it safe to assume playing eso on the ps4 pro via 1080p with be roughly the same visually as playing the game on pc with ultra settings?

    It's just scaled up to 4k, which is like 4,096 x 2160.

Not sure how good they could make it tbh. MMO's are very CPU intensive compared to other games and the PS4 Pro is still using the same CPU in the original PS4, just slightly clocked higher.

I'd expect Ultra PC settings at 1080p/30.

Exactly. That would be fine. The reveal trailer for 4k suggested only marginal graphical improvement with the added caveat of being in 4k, which Imo 4k is a complete wash if you cant run all the graphical bells and whistles to go along with it.

I Initially misread your statement. Eso is native 4k. This is confirmed by zos. Most people are already aware.

Your comment however doesn't pertain to the topic.

it must be easy for ZOS to upgrade to the new system specs as the "new but not new" consoles come out because they already have the capacity to crank the graphics up a little bit higher.

It's one of the few Pro titles at launch NOT using checkerboard rendering. You're spreading misinformation. ESO will be native 4K with other visual enhancements. They clarified this the day of the announcement, even.

Basically I just want to know to what extent the visual enhancements will be.

Like if I were to log on to my pc client, lock the fps to 30, set it to ultra and enable controller ui and would that be generally how Eso will run on ps4pro lol

I think the best way to understand this is PC very high settings but not ultra.

I'm guessing as I don't know for sure but the gpu is a lot better but we don't have actual hardware tests unless ZOS has a Dev kit and can comment, I'm guessing it will cap at very high.

That would be great if they did but the article has a video so if u have a 4K device, then check it out https://youtu.be/qQtfV0rknwg

I still don't understand the big appeal over 4k resolutions. Unless you have a GIGANTIC screen to make use of it, the eye can barely tell the difference between 4k and the standard 1080. If I had the opportunity I may upgrade to a 1440p screen, but there's absolutely no reason to go any higher.

Well it's a console topic....the 4K TVs that support HDR are really big.

55-75 inches is what I consider as big

Do you have to purchase another copy of ESO to play on the PS4 Pro or can you use your existing game that you own? I have a 4KTV and I'm getting the new PlayStation but I really do not feel as if I should have to purchase another copy.

If u have a digital copy then the data is saved to ur psn username n account so everything will transfer accordingly once u login to ur new console via ur existing username n redownload the client from the psn store for free since u alrdy own it. If u have a hard copy disc from my understanding is that the pro can play all existing ps4 game discs so after u reinstall from the disc n log in to ur psn username all ur characters n progress will carry over n b available in glorious 4k resolution. Fyi make sure ur backing up all ur progress manually to the Playstation cloud which is available manually n free to all ps plus members. :)

PS4 Pro will run ESO at native 4k, the only game at launch that does this! I would have bought a PS4 Pro but no 4k player so it's dead in the water to me.

I actually run ESO at 4k to my 70" 4k TV from my PC (usually play with controller for levelling alts) and it looks incredible!!

I'm waiting for Project Scorpio thou seeing that will be compatible with my Oculus Rift too.
