It's in the dev's hands though ... I think something that is on par (or larger than) Wrothgar would be worth the wait.
Vvardenfell will be incredible no matter what. Seriously.... we even get the Morag Tong motif at the same time!
What you should be worrying about is whether or not ZOS will take the absolutely perfect opportunity to create a fifth trial out of Red Mountain.

Fits in quite nicely imo. So does the Numidian..... and Dagoth Ur

Yup! Ghostgate was created to contain what Red Mountain spawns.
You climb Red Mountain in Morrowind, killing tons of ghoulish creatures and Ash Vampires, and eventually reach Dagoth Ur in the chamber w/ the Numidium.
Then you basically finish the main quest by using Sunder and Keening (along with Wraithguard) to destroy the Heart of Lorkhan. At least I think you destroyed the Heart, since it might not have actually been "destroyed" altogether.
Remember now?
I'm a little fuzzy on some of the timeline - would Dagoth Ur have started spreading blight by the time of ESO, or is that still in the future?exeeter702 wrote: »Vvardenfell will be incredible no matter what. Seriously.... we even get the Morag Tong motif at the same time!

A Red Mountain trial might make sense, so long as the heroes are not successful. There are already whispers in ESO of the Tribunal starting to lose their power, and in so turbulent a time they would without a doubt try to reach the Heart of Lorkhan again to replenish their powers. I don't think they manage a successful pilgrimage to the Heart during the 2nd Era so I think the players would have to fail in some way during the Trial which would be tricky from a design perspective. Perhaps it all ends with a desperate scramble to flee before Dagoth Ur's power and forces overwhelm you?

I don't think the blight will have started but he will have obtained enough power to keep the Tribunal from making their pilgrimage to the Heart of Lorkhan if I recall correctly.

Because I absolutely hate when you run into a creature in PvE zones every 5ft. Doesn't feel realistic. I just want to enjoy the scenery without being bothered by creatures everywhere.

You never played Morrowind did you? You can't go 2 feet without getting attacked by a cliff racer.
1. During release of ESO it was said that Red Mountain erupted coz of Planemeld and cutted Tribunal connection to Heart, so middle area for sure will big volcano that you can't pass. It means you won't be able to travel from location borders with shortest way unlike other zoens, i.e. it may give feeling of bigger zone.
2. Catacombs beneath Red Mountain as Trial whos main plot is to restore Tribunal's ()control over Lorkhan's Heart would be most epic Trial ever.
Well, Tribunal have those epic powers only on propaganda papers, i.e. myths (remember in Deshaan' main plot that Almalexia couldn't even handle daedras in main Temple). And it might be not that easy to get control over Heart coz: we know that in the past wars between Great Houses were devastating, this include wars for Vvardenfell control, till Tribunal claimed it as their domain; all daedra lords wanna claim Heart for themselves (remember Mehrunes incursion and destroying of Ald'ruhn on the way during Oblivion Crisis); House Dagoth was active even after extinction and was strong enough to participated in conflicts against other Great Houses("Poison Song" vol.); also don't forget idea that promote it and ZOS used in Stonefalls main plot - chimers used volcanos as prisons and volcanos are source of uncommonly strong magickal powers and Red Mountain is not simple volcano [remember Brothers of Strife, I won't forget boss battle vs Balreth in volcano and it can be expanded on entire larger level of Red Mountain as being Trial]. So ZOS can easily get the idea what enemies we will face (remember such unknown pre-eso events like Serpent release, Planemeld of Bal and Dro-m'Athra incursion).Thevampirenight wrote: »1. Its possible that is what will happen. But its possible the tribunal can retake it on there own. At this time, since they have god like power I imagine them being able to handle the lava lol. If Vivec had slept with Molag Bal while headless and some time Later Vivec gives birth to Molag Bals Babies then for sure they can handle the heat. If one can survive headless then one can survive the lava.
You can already meet cliff racers in game as non-targetable creatures and they emit this most recognizable sound, so obviously you will meet them in much higher numbers on Vvardenfell. So you can already lose you mindStoopid_Nwah wrote: »All I know is that if cliff racers run as rampant as I'm used to, and they continue to make those screeching sounds...I may just lose my mind.
I wasn't crazy then! I've played EP since console launch and swore I heard them, but was so confused as nothing obnoxiously pecked away at me! From the mouth of Vivec:
"In the past, the Tribunal made seasonal campaigns to Red Mountain. We slew Dagoth Ur and his kin, though the Heart always revived them in time. Later, when we realized we couldn't destroy them, we created the Ghostfence to contain the threat. These solutions were effective until Dagoth Ur ambushed us and captured Sunder and Keening. Since that time, our fortunes have waned as his increased."
I would love to join one of these pre-Ghostfence seasonal campaigns as a trial.
