Help with DPS mage

I am new to this game so kinda a noob and need some help.

I want to be a DPS. I am a Sorcerer.
Need to know what to put my points into and what kinda of equipment to get and all that.
Any help would be great.

Dual wield + bow, all points into stamina, medium armour, core damage skills are rapid strikes, endless hail and steel tornado

But well I guess you want to play a magicka based sorc. So in that case light armour, a destruction staff and putting most points into magicka will be the way to go. For leveling I would recommend that you just try out most of the skills to see what they do. And don't worry, you can always reset your skill or attribute points for a small gold fee (in Wayrest, Mournhold or Elden Root), so playing around with skills won't mess up your build at later stages.
For armour I'd use 5 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy, so you level the passives for all weights. Using set armour is not needed for leveling, but if you want, you can get some crafted sets like seducer, kagrenac's hope or julianos. The only place where your gear is really important while leveling is when you enter pvp.
