Crit Surge and CP

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask if crit surge benefit from the following CP
+Healing RECIEVED
+Healing you do
Wep crit/spell crit (which one?)

Just wondering if a sorc can double dip into healing done and healing recieved on the heal values on crit surge, and i know the heal tick can crit, but which crit does it scale off of?

Pretty sure it's only affected with Healing Taken/Received stat bonuses and CP.

Critical Surge and Power Surge both proc whenever you do damage that is a critical. So if you're magic, and you do Physical damage and it crits, it'll still heal you. Same thing if you're stamina and you use a Magic/Elemental ability and it crits, it'll still heal you.

thanks for the reply. Ah yes i know it procs from crits.

But my question is that the heal itself can crit too. As in the tooltip says 3000health healed. but that value can crit and heal for 4.5k~

My question was if the heal crit chance was based on wep crit or spell crit?

That's an interesting question, and in the past the usual answer has been whichever is the higher value, but given that this ability costs magicka, it's very possible that it is based on spell crit. Im afraid I'm not at home otherwise I could test it for you.

On my stam sorc the heals from surge crit at the rate of my weapon crit, I am not sure if it scales off the cp that raises the power of physical damage/stam heal crits or the one that buffs the magicka damage/heal crits however.

Good questions!

The way it sounds, is that any Critical Hit will heal you when Surge is not on cooldown.

If that Critical Hit was triggered based on Weapon Crit (Stam-based damage types) then it will scale off of your CP that increases the healing of your Weapon Crits but only if the Surge heal itself crits.

If that Critical Hit was triggered based on Spell Crit (Magicka-based damage types) then it will scale off of your CP that increases the healing of your Spell Crits but only if the Surge heal itself crits.

Blessed (healing cast CP) should buff the Surge heal.

Healing Recieved CP definitely buffs the Surge heal.

These abilities do not scale, with magicka or stamina. They DO scale with healing received and healing done in the CP trees. I've seen mine upward of 8K per tick. Your damage could be 50k or 2k, it will not change the value.

All versions of surge costs magicka @Waffennacht.
Thus they all benefit from spell crit % and spell crit damage.
Also surge scales both off healing received and off healing done.

@Ahzek @Vaoh thanks for the reply, but seems you guys are stating the opposite. i'm unsure how we can test it though. If the HEAL of the crit surge has it's own crit chance scaled off SPELL CRIT or WEP CRIT.. mmmm

Well @Ahzek may very well be correct.

I have mained a Sorc since launch, but these details are so difficult to figure out! Maybe I will test it eventually. Surge is so vague in its description of precisely what it does.

Have we come to a conclusion?

• Surge, Critical Surge, and Power Surge are both Magicka
• Does it scale with Precise Strikes
• Does it scale with Elfborn
• It DOES scale with Quick Recovery & Blessed
• Since it is Magicka does it scale with Elfborn?

So many questions!!!
