Thieves Guild: Daily Hiests

Time limits need to be increased and the penalty for being spotted is too severe. The whole idea behind being a thief is to be sneaky and cautions; not speed. A world class sniper will lie in the same spot and not move for hours to get that one shot. They will spend hours getting into position. They are the ultimate thief in that their prize is someone's life. Go ahead, rush 'em (And no, I'm not glorifying snipers. It's their job. ). Why include those stupid baskets if you didn't want us to observe guard patterns and measure the appropriate time to move. Plus, you have to jump to places. If you are off on one, your time is blown and you loose out on a possible motif drop. In comparison, the Dark Sacrament dailies are far easier than the Heists. And if you are going to "penalize" us for not having the map memorized, then we should be able to abandon the heist and restart it. This one shot nonsense is total crap. If you can do it, great. At my rate, I'll never obtain the Thieves Guild motif in order to craft my own set with the bonuses I want.

Another thing, why aren't the Abbah motifs dropping with the large reward for the repeatable Thieves Guild quests? I have gone days without seeing a single one and always turning them in for the largest reward. So, what's the point? Why is the drop rate so low? It's obscenely low.

I successfully clear within the timer almost every time I do it. Takes practice and patience. Sometimes RNG does get the best of me.

That is the whole point of being able to abandon the quest and try again. Instead, you have one shot for the day and no chance to "practice". That really punishes someone who may only be subscribed for 1 - 2 months. And before you go there, I have purchased this game twice (PC and PS4 - both upgraded to Imperial). I've spent my share of money on this game.

I did more than 30 Tip Board quests and got 3 Abah's Motifs. So, one in 10. If you do the Countess quests, you can do those real quick if you have a stock of items she looks for, and just repeat these quests ad nauseum. But, you can do about 10 to 15 of them in an hour. Just keep activating the board until you see the words "Esteemed Theives" then accept the quest.

I have yet to get a Thieves, but then again, I camp outside the entrance until that timer runs out (as I hate the spam of messages about how I am screwing up my time) then I treat it either like a normal delve and kill everything, or I take my time and sneak through. I hate timed quests and do everything to avoid them.

Assasins looks a lot like the Thieves Motif, and those are pretty cheap in the stores.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The heist is easy and anyone can complete it.

The challenge is the heist and as such should not be easy, but is certainly not to hard.

    @Nestor

I started to do that Abandon quest thing in favor of what I thought was quick and easy. That was until I put 3 points into pickpocketing in Legerdemain. Now, I have a 100% chance on laborers, drunks, fisherman, students, etc. The Idle Hands quests go by so much faster with absolutely no risk of being caught or gaining a bounty. Not only that, the quality improves in your Cadwell Gold zone. I have started to nab blue items.

In regards to the Countess quests, I just head to Raw' Klah and plunder the inn, duck into the den, and repeat until I collect the items. Plus, their are only two obstacles to remove in that inn.

I have completed all heists and jobs on all my 12 toons. So here goes some tips:

1.- I did not use any stam build like others do, so your own dps build works.
2.- Make sure you are completely hidden when trying to sneak to a NPC that is not facing you. If you dont, you are going to be spotted. Also, you can use invisible potions when you need to sneak a certain amount of NPC and time is running out (watch out of traps)
3.- Sometimes is better to kill a certain NPC you will encounter twice (or more times) when you going to do the optional objectives and return to the exit (like in Glittering Grotto). Respawn timers of these NPC seems to be more than 5 minutes (of 8 minutes given to you) so losing 40 seconds for just the single NPC killed on the heist is a good deal (kill them with the Blade of Woe for faster kills).
4.- Practice makes you better. You can abandon the quest and wait 10 minutes for it to reset and start over (open your quest tab -> select quest -> right click -> abandon). Analyze what you did wrong, which NPC can be killed to save time (see point above). Notice that the same place can have up to 3 different versions in terms of main/optional objectives placement. So your strategy plan for such place may vary.
5.- For the Abba Watch, it takes time and luck to get them. Sometimes I get two pages in a row in just one toon and get nothing on my other eleven ones even after turning 10 or 15 jobs of them. I always do "The Covetous Countess" jobs. You can get the required items from the heists and jobs rewards to save time to do them.

Hope those tips help you. And remember, practice and be patient.

Errhhhmm have you tried abandoning the quest ? . If not, do it.

Ports you out of the instance and you can restart it. Have to do it before you complete the last objective.
So yes , you have more than one shot at them.

You can also bring a friend. Splitting up helps a lot.
But honestly it's pretty hard to fail with a set of night's silence. You can just run through.
The instances with a whole mess of lantern guys can be tricky, granted.

Yeah I abandon and immediately retry the Heist quests all the time. It's the Dark Brotherhood Sacrament quests that you can't abandon and retry right away.

If you abandon a Heist before you complete the final objective (steal the main item, or steal the last item you need), then you can go in right away and try again with all objectives cleared. If you abandon after the last objective is obtained, the elite mob will still be up when you re-enter the instance, but all objectives will be clear. If you don't feel like running around dodging the elite for your next try, wait 10 minutes and the instance will reset completely.
