Curious what everyone thinks is the current best magicka class to play for DPS.
I've always played stamina but I'm ready for a change of pace.
What do y'all think and WHY???

    From experience, my magtemplar has been the best magicka setup I've used. So far it's the only character that has completed every base game vet dungeon and two DLC dungeons on vet. I think because it can pump out damage but also is also able to survive while doing so.

    For strictly DPS, magicka DK hands down. Highest magicka DPS.

    They are plagued by poor sustain, high costs, and low mobility.


    I'm a Templar player, which has higher sustain, low costs, and low mobility.

    I love having a nb in my group for pve. If they run funnel, they have enough off heals to negate the need for a healer in a dungeon. NB also have incredible sustain. They do good damage- better than a mag Templar in my opinion.

    For pvp I suggest templar.

    Right now, Templar. Easy to play, too.

    But I find Magicka NB the most fun.
    Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

    Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
    Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
    Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
    Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
    Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
    Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
    Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
    Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
    Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
    Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    Templar for raw damage and healing, NB for utility, deceiving and zerg bombing. Sorcerer and Dk for masochism.

    I like NB and DK , Sorcs seem like clones to me, theyre everywhere but essentially the same (most classes are but..)

    Templar has so much utility at the moment

    I was a mag nightblade dps until I saw a sorc with 1500 ultimate solo trials. Now I tank.

    I put Magicka Sorc as the best especially end game but my main since beta has been Magicka Templar as they can swap very easily between DPS and Healing or Tank roles.

    Great answers y'all, thank you for all the input!
    I'm hearing, from what y'all have said, that if a player wants decent dps with self sustain they should go Templar or Nightblade.
    If someone wants purely a raw dps, but might have some sustain issues they'd have to supplement with potions, food/drink, enchants etc they should go with DK or Sorc.

    I know from experience sorcs do have some self sustain abilities so DK might be the hardest to play but I wonder if it translates into the best, pure, DPS magicka class???
