So I'm levelling the last little bit of Thieves Guild after finishing the quest line, happily travelling around thieving and pickpocketing. Then I get greedy and caught and the nearby guard is on me before I can creep away. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to take my sparkling new Clemency passive out and wave it about. But I never get the chance.
The controlled gives a quick buzz and my hands go up, but instead of starting the dialogue it springs ahead to the guard attacking me and the message that I'll now be attacked on sight.
No problem, I'm outside and close to the edge of town so I'll just run for it - I might even come across the mythical footpad.
Nope! No footpad, no running.
Everything stops. Apart from the mean guard hitting me with things. Can't move, can't turn, can't even look around. Can't attack or defend. Only thing I can do is die, which I managed quite quickly. I could resurrect (with much emptier pockets) but couldn't do anything after, not even open the menu. Only option left was to exit and close the game and restart.
First time this happened I thought it was just a very unluckily timed crash but it's done it a few more times now so maybe not.
Has this been happening to anyone else? Had a search but couldn't find anything similar. It will make thievery much more challenging if I can never get away from a guard again!
