They are the largest gold sink in the game. I'm not kidding when I say, some kiosks are being outbid at over 10 million gold. It might sound crazy, but the items they sell for the following week will rake in over 50 million, and most of the stuff was earned without investment so it's all profit. The customers of these kiosk are indirectly feeding the sink as well as the guilds themselves. Many of you don't realize how these sinks are fighting inflation by removing gold from the economy. If players have gold pile up and nothing to spend it on, they will pay outrageous sums for everyday items, and you won't be able to find them for a decent price.

Is that 50m for the guild or 50m gross over all players in the guild. Even if the guild is making 40m profit after a 10m for a week lease, really isn't that big of a gold sink. Though this probably PC, console might be more like 3-5m for a week lease. I don't even think adding play housing is going to help the gold sink on PC. Seems like your are *** out of luck.

Of course it's the guilds earnings. And while the profit might seem much higher, tell me where in the game you'll see a bigger sink? And these kiosk bids slowly increase with competition so that eventually guilds will be investing half their income just to sell. Also, a lot of the profits might just be resales of things that were bought for cheaper, so it's not necessarily 100% profit.

So what happen trial and dungeon cant be sold. What will replace the lost income from those traders. Motifs and mats cant save them, gear is a huge part of guild earnings.

Tempers and regents make a lot. It's messed up that the incentive to profit from trials and dungeons is being removed, but it won't take away all sources of income.

I agree yellow mats is another big part, but then u take in the increase influx of mats from all nodes scaling to your level. Prices should drop from 30 to 40%, even with all the new sets. Just seems this upcoming update is to screw up the incoming even more. Xbox na, the market is ridiculous to say the least. For instance temps 17-20k and still rising, u have to be out of your mind to pay 160k for 8. Especially since update is only 7 weeks out.

Something needs to be done about Guild Traders. Certain players have multiple guild traders, creating a monopoly and even an alliance of traders, so it is very difficult to hire a trader. In some cities it costs 1-3 mil to hire a trader for one week. Then as people have mentioned here, these individuals also use dummy traders to block up a spot so there is no competition.

I have a trade guild because I got fed up with the attitude of other trade guilds and these elite monopolising players. However I would gladly give up having guild traders for one central Auction House, where everyone has the chance to sell and buy items, where prices are driven down and players that do not LIVE inside the game 24 hours a day actually have a chance to buy items they need at a realistic price as oppossed to paying 100k+, which they cannot afford being a more casual player who actually has a job.

This monopoly that certain players have created in game does not serve Zenimax, and it doesn't serve the rest of the players online, it only serves the few who have monopolised the market. Trading is much better in other games, even games that now suck like DCUO, the auction house works.

One way it could be organised is still to have a guild trader somewhere, but its just an accesss point to the auction house... or just do away with them completely.

Tell that to CCP's Eve Online. That MMO is highly successful because of the facts you are against.

Really, I was wondering why my fly mounts went. Thanks for clearly that up for.

I sry for getting off topic, but some times people bring some really points. I find very interesting to hear, player suggest and opinions about how the guild trader. Do they work as intended or could they use an upgrade. Especially for console side, a few simple UI changes could help the flow of things.

Guilds get a relatively small percentage of sales (3.5% to be exact) back as taxes. To use your example of 40 million in sales (not necessarily profit, as who knows how much of those items were bought and relisted), that means that a guild is getting about 1.4 million back in taxes. If that guild is bidding 10 million for the spot, they're making the rest of the bid up via raffles and other fundraising - there's the player gold sink right there, and it's larger than most realize. It's not pure profit going right into the guild's pocket - it's investing money in order for its members to make money.

A global auction house would allow the richer players to dominate the market by controlling the supply through a smaller source of consumption, rather than the way the current structure allows for variations in pricing.

A global auction would cause an unstable market, capital cities would over populate; cause more performance problems for the servers. Guild traders are spread out, so players travel around tamriel and its easier for servers to stabilize. ESO doesn't have a main hub and usually mmo's that do have one, it cause servers issues.

My proposal doesn't take away the traders, just give guilds a better chance to a build a market based on their member count. Yes, I agree it would take away a gold sink. Though at same time, guild officers and leaders wouldn't have to bid on for spot; waking up at certain time to make sure they have one. Having a guild trader every week has turned into a part time.

Many different mmo's I have play, there was always away to spend your gold. There really isn't that much to spend your gold on in eso.

Maybe adding a black market crown store in game, where we can bid on items that was one exclusive to the crown store. Same concept of the lottery, just in game currency instead crowns.

You will be able to do that with the RNG Crown Boxes.

Did u even read what i said or u just responding to be a horrible troll. Plz for the love of tempers r to expensive on Xbox, reframe from asking anything that isn't related to the topic at hand. I understand and even pointed it out in my response to someone. My concept is to have items on like black market vendor or guild trader that comes by once a month and we can bid on exclusive items and even box random box not for crowns but for in game currency.
    A rare mount 15m
    Green lottery box 500k
    Blue lottery box 1m
    Purple 2m
    Yellow 4m

Each box would obtain mats x200, chance at rare costumes, pets, mounts, motifs, and even gear and weapon.

I made statement with decrease of trial and dungeon gear, I felt the guild traders were going to suffer. I have that retract after I found this wiki that showcases all the sets that drop in one tamriel update.

Take a look, some r in dungeons; while others are world drops. A few could be worth a lot of gold, while other meh not so much
