Need opinion about DLC

I'm coming back to the game and i have already Orsinium from a while ago and i enjoyed it a lot. I saw all this new DLC and i wonder if they are worth it for me. I play solo so Orsinium as a new zone and story was very good for me, i liked it. I saw the information the web give about the other DLC and i'm not sure if i'm going to enjoy them.

I'm an Ork Dragonknight and i normally dont steal or play stealth so im not sure about Thieves Guild, same as Dark Brotherhood. The new zones are as big as Orsinium? It's the story interesting?

I see The Imperial City and Shadows of the Hist are mostly group dungeons, so i'm not so sure too. Its seem to me they are minor content DLC, but i can be wrong.

I welcome all kinds of opinion which can help me decide which DLC (if not all) can be fun for me. What do you recommend?

Thanks for reading and for posting your comment!

If you like solo content I'd suggest purchasing Dark Brotherhood. You don't need to be stealthy and it has a good story line to it. Personally I'd just pick up the Guilds & Glory DLC pack as it contains all DLC for a reasonable price. I mean more content and new area's to explore is always good.

I enjoyed Dark Brotherhood the most. Relative to Orsinium and Imperial City, it's only a small DLC, with a very short quest line and a small zone. The reason I liked the DB though is because you learn how to use 'blade of woe.' Basically, it's a synergy that you can activate when stealth behind most non-quest related NPCs. You'll assassinate them, and you can usually loot an item that can be fenced or laundered at a refuge.

The reason I like this feature so much is because it makes everything else slightly more enjoyable. Say I was starting an alt, and I needed to go through certain quests to get skill points or w/e. I'd normally be bored, but having the alternative of being able to 'blade of woe' any unexpecting NPCs makes it slightly more amusing/entertaining. Looted goods are important for many near impossible character achievements (like laundering 1m worth of items). It's also a really easy way to make direct gold without having to go through guild traders.

That said, if you are a vampire, it can be really hard to activate the blade of woe synergy, since it has the same combination of keys as feeding on vampire. This can be problematic, because accidentally feeding will result in a bounty.

As a mostly solo player too, I've enjoyed all of them. I played Thieves Guild & Dark Brotherhood through with my incredibly unstealthy Imperial magicka Templar (horrible combo but didn't get on with stamina and changed to Altmer as soon as I got the chance!) without too many problems, although I never got on with heists in either. I liked the story lines in both; DB one was a little better but TG felt less like a grind to get to max level so I think they evened out.
I've actually started to venture into PVP a little in the last week or so and would recommend Imperial City too. I am so, so bad at it and frequently killed but if you can tag on to a group it can be a lot of fun and there are some really helpful people about.

Thieves Guild has, IMHO, a super boring questline that's very difficult to progress as new "chapters" come when you to progress on Thieves Guild Skills line, which is done through repeatable quests that takes a lot of time to complete (mainly because of Loading Screens).

Except for that, it has Maw of Lorkhaj Trial. It's nice now that it's stable and provides the hardest challenge among trials on veteran (according to those who did it).

Dark Brotherhood DLC has the same boring way to progress through story, but it's faster as most of the times you don't need to pass through much different locations like in TG (and, I shouldn't admit, it's much fun murdering targets). The story itself is slightly better than TG's.

I can't comment much about Shadows of the Hist as I don't have it, except what I heard: 2 new dungeons, with very tough veteran versions, with interesting Edwards (skin and OP monster set for stamina)

Imperial City is more than just the group dungeons - it's also a PVP zone with a whole bunch of PVE content in it. It can be fun, but unless you do a lot of PVP, or unless you only go there with a bunch of friends, odds are you'll get ganked by enemy players quite a bit. If you're OK with that, you'll probably enjoy it. If that's something that will frustrate you, then you probably won't.

Shadows of the Hist is literally nothing but 2 group dungeons (each with a non-vet and a vet mode). They're very cool group dungeons IMO, but if group dungeons aren't your thing, definitely don't bother getting this one.

Thieves Guild includes a new zone, but it's much smaller than Wrothgar or one of the base-game zones (aside from the starter islands anyway). I like the zone, the 2 delves in it, and the main TG questline, but the questline requires a lot of thieving and stealthy play, so if you don't like that you may not enjoy it that much.

Basically all of what I just said about Thieves Guild also applies to Dark Brotherhood. In some ways I like DB better, and in some ways I like TG better, but they're very similar in terms of what they offer.

Why not subscribe to ESO+ for 1 month, check out the DLCs and then decide if you like any of them enough to buy them? The crowns that you get with your sub can go towards the purchase of any of them that you decide you like.

I'd like to add to Shadows that if you dont plan on running it with guildies or friends you -will- have a bad time. These are not the sort of things you pug.

Presuming you might have to buy crowns to purchase the DLC's you may choose......

Sub for a month or two, try them all, make a decision, use the 1500 crowns from each month's sub towards the ones you decide you want........

Or continue subbing for that delicious crafting bag!! :)

I personally dislike sneaking, it does not suit my play style at all. That being said, I never did finish the Thieves Guild DLC, I found it boring and rather painful since the entire point is sneaking around.

I did finish the Dark Brotherhood DLC. It was a bit slow to level, and had minor amounts of sneaking around that I did not like. But the quests were interesting and easier for me to become invested in than the Thieves Guild. I also rather liked the "zone" DB is in, I thought the world bosses especially were a lot of fun.

As a solo player primarily, I have not spent any time in Imperial City nor have I done the latest Dungeon pack.

That being said, the DLC bundle is the most cost effective at almost half off.

I'd recommend Orisuium first of all as it's a large, fun landmass and storyline. Second, I've had lots of fun with the Dark Brotherhood. Thieves guild not so much.
Unless you're into PVP, I'd advice against Imperial city. It's a PVE/PVP combined, but if you mainly PVE you have little to gain from it.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

After reading all of you i think i'm going to pass for now in those others DLC. The only only thing that concerns me now is if DB and TG DLC give some new skills that could be very important (like that Blade of Wue thing) or some cool set of weapons or armors that can be good for my Dragonknight.

As some of you said, i mainly play as a loner now, that's why i enjoyed Orsinium so much. I played some dungeons with random people before and it's nice but i'm not sure paying for only dungeons could be my thing. For the "subscribe for one or 2 month thing", i'm a very casual player, as my job take me most of my time, i dont think is worth it for me, but is a very good suggestion for a holiday someday.

I didn't start with PVP yet, i've tried to enter the zone before and the latency was not great for me (Spain), i dont know if they work it out. For the "get ganked part", i dont mind a little of pvp in my life, but if i'm going to get ganked 5 times in 5 minutes it could be too much for me.

I have one more question, Shadows of Hist is not included in the new DLC Bundle right? I was thinking in buying the DLC pack regardless of my preference just to have them all for the future, but i saw in the website is not listed amongst them.

Sorry for the long post, i appreciate a lot your suggestions, this is a very cool and supportive community.

Both the TG and DB DLCs come with new skill lines, but the skill lines are all passives that are very much focused on things that really only benefit you if you're doing stuff like stealing and killing innocents. The blade of woe can be used to kill the same types of targets that vampires can feed on (so men, mer, and betmer), so it can be used outside of assassination quests, but it's very situational and if you don't like to do justice system-related stuff you won't miss it. There are some new gear sets in both of the DLCs, some of which are interesting and useful, but nothing that you'll really miss if you don't have them.

I would recommend against buying Imperial City then, because it's quite possible to get ganked 5 times in 5 minutes there, particularly if your latency isn't good. I mean, I wouldn't expect to get ganked that frequently there, but it can certainly happen.

Correct, they bundled the "older" DLCs into this one, but not Shadows of the Hist because it's the newest one, and has only been released for a short time.

Think of it this way: they cost the same amount as just one DLC would atm.

All of the DLC have skyshards and other skill points you'll eventually want. There's a few passive skills that come in handy, too.

The Dark Brotherhood has one where an NPC gives you a sack full of goodies once per day. 2 of the options (a useful item or potions) are useless, but the other choice gives you the equivalent of a Hireling but in alchemy mats. I really like that one except I hate having to take my toons all the way to the damned DB place just to pick them up once every 20 hours.

There's another passive that I love which halves your agro range while mounted. You can zoom past mobs at full speed and if you're not close enough to touch them they just ignore you. This works with Guards in cities, too, which is nice.

FYI @runagate you don't have to go to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary to pick those up. The NPC who gives you stuff can also be found in any Outlaw Refuge when you have the passive.
