Can I activate Gold Edition on current account? I don't want to buy DLC pack for crowns because it is not account-wide. So can I buy Gold Edition for example on Steam and activate code from it on current account?

I was about to ask the same question... That's the only way it would matter.

Yes, I play on both servers. And I don't want to pay subscription.

Your situation is understandable. DLC and account upgrades should be linked to the account, not the server. They were wrong to do it that way. I thought it was an aberration, but as it turns out, it showed their Crown Store philosophy.

ESO Plus is the only thing that spans servers. I think that ZOS favors people who subscribe, and they always have. This is why ESO Plus spans servers, why ESO Plus includes DLC content, why ESO Plus gets Crowns in the same amount as the subscription, why ESO Plus gets better costume recoloring, and why ESO Plus gets the Crafting Bag. I think that when you see what ESO Plus gets next, this will become even more clear. There are lots of ways to do this, but two spring to mind right away. I am somewhat eager to see if they take either of them.

I also think that ESO Plus subscribers currently outnumber non-subscribers. That might make it the single largest player demographic in the game, at least where revenue is concerned. ZOS would like to drive that number higher. The only real question is whether a new incentive is needed.

(Edit: should add that with the Gods and Glory DLC pack, I am thinking of dropping ESO Plus and buying that, then switching to buying the DLC independently. Only the ones I want, of course. Only overworld DLC, no PVP or Dungeon focused DLC. Crown Crates are also a factor in this since those could easily provide revenue that does not have to come from me. Maybe I am 'expendable' as a revenue source. I have just enough ego to consider the idea that I am not alone in this thought. If they are going to keep people like me subscribed, they need to do something with ESO Plus.)

No, you can't add a Gold Edition code to an existing account. This is likely because Gold Edition codes are specifically "new account" codes. The alternative for existing players is the Guilds and Glory DLC pack, and I agree that it is rather unfair that this pack does not apply to both servers when the Gold Edition does.
