The Cold Shoulder

Being a complete fashionesta, I spend a lot of time trying to look somewhat aesthetically pleasing. Finding the right match of armor colors, particular sets from various motifs, having the right fabric, the right texture, it's a nightmare at point due to how long it takes.

Nothing spoils that than asymmetry. Take for example, the Undaunted sets. The h**k is up with the one lone shoulder? Practically, it makes no sense. In fashion, symmetry is a style quality. So then why the cold shoulder? H**k, even the art team at ZoS didn't even agree with it and the banners at the Undaunted Enclave have both shoulders!

At least ad in a two shoulder style in the loot table, I don't care about the grind! H**k, you could make it so you can rip off another shoulder blade from the dead boss and use that.

On a side note, why does the Dwemer silk look like the stuff you put on cake? Couldn't we get a more fibrous look or at least a slimmer silk look that doesn't make me think cake.

As one fashionista to another I love my lone shoulder. ;) It completes my style very nicely.

Different strokes for different folks. :)

Exactly! There are many things that simply look better without symmetry. For example, Kena shoulders.

It goes well with the rouge look , very dashing, but after two dlc's of that. I'm tapped out! Unless my name was xXShadowMasterSlayerXx, I couldn't do the rouge for that long. We need the options, let us tear off another shoulder blade!

Engine Guardian is another good example of a nice looking lone shoulder (pic below).

According to wikipedia asymmetric pauldrons became a thing in Italy in the 15th century, to allow for more mobility in the weapon arm. I have to agree with the OP, asymmetry with two pauldrons would look fine, but a single one looks silly in most cases.

Actually, the pauldron, of the Italian 15th century, was worn on the sword shoulder...the shield arm lacked the pauldron in order to tuck the shield in tighter, to better absorb the blows and cause more glancing hits. It also allowed groups to better form a shield wall in group formations. So if you what you put there was what Wikipedia said, then someone editing got it wrong.

so true when they 1st came out a friend said "it kind of looks like the emperor helm & shoulder"
and i thought oh no, they are awful,
but you drop the clothes, loose 1 shoulder and lighten up the helm and its NICE!

BTW, I am pretty sure that the Kena Shoulder is the same model, just modified, as the Emperor shoulder, they have the same texture.

Agreed! I often find myself falling over to the side, or walking in small circles because of this! Please balance me out!

It's the same shoulder, but one side lobed off and enlarged. The shoulder piece is about as big as my orc's head. The sizes seems wonky on male figures.

Being a casual player I honestly don't care if what I have is all the same style as long as the color is right. That's an easy fix. But I don't think it is designed or even intended to be easy to coordinate the style. There should be some challenge to it.

Now that you have reminded me of a song, please go look up "David Bowie - Fashion". This thread is to blame.
