Marksman is not a bad choice, but I already have it on my Stamplar and would like to use something else here. Especially my agility set which is collecting dust in the bank.
Currently I'm thinking about 3x Agility Jewelry, 5x Eternal Hunt and 4x Clever Alchemist on the DW bar; 3x Eternal Hunt and 5x Clever Alchemist on the bow bar. But I'm still not sure about traits.
Impen is just as important on a NB. The exception is if you're a ganker-only playstyle and don't mind dying when you get seen (cause you will). The defensive value you'll get from at least 4 pieces of impen is far greater than the small amount of stats you could get from divines. There have been maths done on this that you could find if you dig hard enough.Hey guys, I was looking for some stamblade guides but couldn't find anything up to date or without the words Velidreth and Viper in them.
So I was wondering what setup you'd recommend for a DW/bow stamblade.
Eternal Hunt is suggested quite often, but I'm not sure how this is best utilized.
Clever Alchemist seems quite costly, but without 2H I'd probably have to use weapon power potions anyway.
Night Mother's Gaze is what I use in PvE, but requires crits to proc and won't help at all against shields.
Twice-Born Star is popular in PvE, but I've never seen suggested for PvP.
And what about traits - is impen as important for nightblades as other classes? Usually I wouldn't want to get hit at all.
If I used divines, what mundus should I use for PvP?
Or would well-fitted be more viable, especially in combination with Eternal Hunt?
Sorry for the stupid questions, but my experiences with playing NB in PvP have been shortlived and demotivating. I'd like to get some advice beforehand this time.

2) Yeh, Velidreth. Damn smiff hit me with a 9k proc the other day...Impen is just as important on a NB. As far as a 5 piece, I still use 5 Shield Breaker pretty often. It's a really cheap option if you're not sure what to get. Only costs 25k Tel Var for the whole purple set in impen. The 2/3/4 pc is perfect for PVP (more damage than Eternal Hunt) and the 5 piece is great in the Magicka shield meta. ~2300 True damage through a shield (sorcs, dks, healthplars).

This smiff guy sounds pretty amazing I'm pretty sure he's got like 2k crit resist though.

Why is Viper better than anything else?
5 Widowmaker + 5 viper + 2 velidreth = lulz.

It turns the game into easy mode to be honest, the argument for magic is that it's meant to have better sustain BUT when I slot viper I can fit my stamina build out with almost nothing but regen and stop worrying about weapon damage.
Attack and BAM 6k damage, get even a little lucky and at this point you've maybe just done 10k+ with your opening attacks, tap away at them and count to 4 in your head and BAM hit them again with your best available burst attack and again you've got another 6k for free on top of whatever attack you just did if you know what you're doing.
My main trick was to fit Eternal Hunt, dodge roll into them, BAM 6k hit and a stun from Hunts turn around and hit again from cloak, instant crit Surprise Attack (or Incapacitating Strike) and another 6k on top of it from LA from Viper. Hate tell follows.
I'm not kidding here, I've actually considered slotting Viper on my Magic Nightblade, honestly I've actually wondered how that would work out because Viper doesn't scale with your stats, it'd still do the same damage. I honestly think the set does so much of the work for you I could still make it worth without worrying about respecing out of magic.
