Full siege line at Ash mile gate?

Saw this tonight and I guess I missed the memo, since when does AD set up a full siege line at the gate? On a side note can you go over the siege limit at the gate?

Often enough in my experience. You can just go around them with a raid to hit them from behind or tag nickel to draw them off.

Exactly, but what I saw looked like they were trying to siege the gate down. Now I know that is not what was going on, but when we are in third place on TF it seems a waste of time to get caught there with so many.

Last campaign on Trueflame while I was playing long hours zerg surfing in the nikel - ash dance and sej - brk dance - I was writing in Yell and Zone chat trying to encourage as many pugs and new players as possible to contribute by setting up meatbags and fire ballista's during those types of fights. Maybe they listened.

Well it is a war zone, the only rule is kill the enemy, I am always amazed that some people think we have some kind of play book for pvp, thousands of players with different playstyles, and faction based pvp, it might be strange to put siege at the gate, but how big of a force was coming through that gate or on the other side, now if we could just get them to put that siege down on something that you can break down...lol

AD max sieges everything. They will tear down a wall and siege it for 30minutes with 10 fire siege and never go in. Telling the noob players to only run siege is going to make them stay noobs forever.

I am pretty sure the siege causes a ton of lag as well. AD lags me out way way more than DC, and I think that is because DC doesn't use battalions of siege. AD can drop me to 4 frames, DC never does.

There has been times where no AD would set up any siege at all which is a lot worse. Learning to operate siege effectively and understanding what situations it's useful in can be a valuable lesson anyway.

I think lag & fps is mostly just from greater number of players in the area, I doubt siege contributes much towards it. It's not like 1 siege engine would contribute any more lag than 1 player, so worst case scenario 20 siege is like having an extra 20 people in the area. That's just my logic talking though, not an expert in how these things are programmed. Maybe someone else can share some more insight.

Also, if you are experiencing lower than normal fps and have force closed ESO recently due to an endless loadscreen, make sure you check the processes tab in task manager to make sure you don't have multiple ESO's running. I had 5 ESO clients running in the background once from using alt+f4 when stuck in loadscreens and didn't realise till my fps started dropping really low.

I love the AD siege game and I don't want the complain. It just looked really out of place. Imagine a full siege line of trebs at the Alessia bridge, it was like that.

i was at the ash MG at this time, the ironic part was with what seemed to be 15 siege down they went through the gate 1-2 at a time and died. I honestly think the plan was to siege the gate down without knowing it cant be

I don't know why anyone expects a mob of random players to coordinate like an organized group. Unorganized mobs are inherently less intelligent than individuals.

Ash gate is often camped by organized groups of all sizes waiting to farm these random players.

So yes, they will trickle through, die and setup siege to counter the players waiting to bomb them in the choke.

To everyone who thinks rampant siege is only an AD thing, you are completely delusional.

Yes I get that, but not a full line of trebs. I would also argue to let them pour through to Nikel or Alessia and get at least a d- tick for your efforts. When AD is losing the way we are, we can't really afford to have that many people tied up at a non-objective, unless of course everyone has given up and it is just muck with DC at the gate day.

Lol, that looks more like a temple scroll juice gate set up. Sometimes all it takes is for one person to put siege down and then everyone follows.

Lol I was there, EP on one side of third floor DC on the other. AD tagging everything with siege while they kill each other for easy AP. But you go ahead and believe we were trying to take the gate down.

What did they change with siege placement next patch? Closer together or just smaller radius to deploy now?

To be fair this one is only so persistent about siege placement because the Dumbminion is most definitely NOT fond of placing siege.

They're quite fond of stealing it from others though..

Im sorry i missed this. But family wants a new patio which mean lots of extra yard work for me. Day 5 complete, 5 more to go but I am planning on doing some TF action tonight.
