PS4 Pro!!! It's happening--can we get a 1440p/ 60 FPS or better version?

As the title says. 4K might be out of the question, but 1440p shouldn't be. I'm pretty sure the mandate is that all games moving forward have to have a PS Pro version, and iterative MMORPGs should be the same. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Any news or even hints on this?

Yea ESO was definitely in the video.

I'm hoping for a PS4 pro patch to enable better performance on the new console, and possible some enhanced gfx. Priority should be better performance tho!

Would be nice if Zeni can state if something is in the works :)

Baby steps :) I'd be happy with an above HD, stable, smooth version. Closer to PC specs with draw distance and such. I think we'll probably get something like that.

Thanks for clarifying that. I though it was an overexcited delusion! Very excited to see what we get. They'll need an UHD version for the inevitable Scorpio port anyway. And there was that mandate that leaked that said all game from October onwards needed PS Pro support.

    Can't wait!

You're overestimating the power of the PS4 pro. It'll be a choice between up-rendered 4K unstable 30 fps (just like now) or 1080p HDR stable 30fps. Nothing too fancy but that's fine. Why do you think they can only hit 1440p when they just announced several up-rendered 4K titles?

Edit: I'll drop this tweet regarding 60fps: https://mobile.twitter.com/VG_Dave/status/773620695532273665

Shoot. A lot of video games are still being made at 720p for my 1080p system and tv.

I'm not overestimating it. Cerny was just onstage and talking about the custom code and hardware that would make 4K in 2016 possible on a console. Probably some very creative algorithms and under the hood stuff that gets 1800p and interpolates or something. It's pushing out something very close to 4K at 60FPS for the games on display. Until the pixel counters get their hands on the direct feed images, we won't know for sure. You can check out the hands on reports coming in yourself.

The titles aren't "up rendered" either. They're being given increased visual effects, draw distance, FPS caps and more--closer to PC settings. They're not just taking a PS4 game and upscaling it--the games getting patched, that is.

P.S. 4Kish at a stable 30 would be great. Even on my 980TI SLI rig, I dip under 60 in Cyro. I think capping it at 30 while adding visual flair would be fine. But these patched games will be more than just 1080p. You're forgetting all the other stuff that makes PC games look so good.

To be clear, true 4K rendering is possible as well on the PS4 Pro, but it looks like we'll only see it on some titles. Bethesda has the Elder Scrolls Online actually running 4K, but that's a game that also benefits from an engine that scales across a wide variety of PC hardware, from integrated laptop graphics to powerful GPUs. And graphically it's not nearly as detailed as most AAA games. According to Matthew Firor, the game's director, it didn't take much effort to get it up and running on the PS4 Pro. And since he's mainly been developing for the PC, his team is used to creating games that scale with incremental hardware upgrades.

Based on this Engadget article, seems like eso will be getting full 4K. I agree with some other people here, expect 30fps.

Nice find! So 4K/30 probably with a few more PC enhancements. I'm hoping draw distance, better textures and effects. Game already looks slick as heck on PC in 4K.

Nixxes did it right with Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4, you either have the normal 1080p - 30 fps experience; PS4 Pro 1080p - locked 60 fps or 4K - 30fps with enhanced graphics. Would love to see this option for ESO as well.

Well if it scales well, as the article implies, then 4K/ 60 might not be off the table. We'll find out tomorrow!

In addition to my beastly rig, I run this game at 1080p on a 680m laptop at ultra, too and it hardly breaks a sweat on that old clunker. It's not untenable that it could do 4K/60, with dips in Cyro and all the usual places, as expected.

I'm excited for the secondary PC graphical enhancements regardless of whatever resolution we end up with.

I'll eat my hat if that happens. There's no way we'll see anything above 1080p / 60fps at best. It's a CPU bound game which already frequently drops frames everywhere. The PS4 pro does have a considerably better GPU but the small upclock of the Jaguar CPU won't make it run much better than before. I highly doubt it.

Maybe you should scroll up and read the article where it's ALREADY RUNNING IN 4K as was shown by the devs to Endgadget. The only thing people are now speculating on is the FPS.
