What's going on with Activity Finder?

So the tank has light armour and 13k health and the healer has a big ass axe. Same situation after a few times using the tool to try and do the normal pledge (Blackheart Haven).

On the last attempt I asked the 'tank' if he was a tank and he said no idea why his role was set at that.

Everyone wiped on that first mate fella after the harpys in the cave.

Players will que as a healer or tank when they are dps to find a group more quickly.

Yes, this is a really bad practice. People need to fulfill the role they queued as.... doing otherwise is just being a jerk to the team.

One thing I would like is if GF grouped people in similar CP... i queue a Random Vet, get White Gold Tower or the new Hist dungeons and get cp20 to cp40 people as DPS....*sigh*

I don't believe the game does a very good job of explaining how the group finder works, selecting roles, etc. I believe often times the wrong roles are done by accident with new players. Hopefully with One Tamriel the developers decide to address this issue with a better tutorial on how to use the group finder.

No I get that, it really bothers me.

It happened about three times tonight and was really obvious these guys were DDs (first time guy says "why am I tank?" and the last time the guy said he was queued as a DD and had no idea why his role was tank.

Anyone had this or is it just me and I'm insanely naive? Lol, I've never had it before in different instances.

I'm super skeptical just because its NEVER happened to me... i think they either knowingly set it wrong or just don't know what they are doing...thinking a sword and shield is damage or something lol

Weirdest for me was an obvious tank who queued as a deeps.

They had 37k health. All they did was light and heavy attacks.

It went well enough- my buddy and I were the "official" tank and healer so there weren't any wipes or anything, just odd.

In the end I just chalk it up to someone wanting to troll a group, I suppose.

Sometimes group finder glitches, and everyone has to select all roles for group to submit. I had that case 3 times. Role distribution was ok, but client still complained.

Also I several times made a mistake, we had 3DPS+tank group for random normal, I selected heal to go to dungeon with the group, but forgot to fix role that after completed dungeon.

The bad thing is that people kick others with wrong role selection w/o even asking a question. There might be a good reason for wrong role in the past.

If it's a random normal dungeon, I don't have a problem with it. But for vet dungeons (most of them anyway) you need to play the role you que for.

I'm not sure, but a friend who had never set a role was set as Tank one time (when we were grouped outside of dungeons). Is that the first option on the list?

I never had it happen that I was set for a role and I didn't pick, so I have no idea how that could happen.

I hate it when DPS queue as tanks and healer...then have the audacity to get mad when everyone keeps dying. -_-

You are aware group finder used to group people within a certain range of your level aren't you? It really didn't work and you could never get a group which is why it was changed. Back in those days group finder was a good way of timing how long you played the game for each session.
