Help! Connection Problems NA PS4

I'm having connections problems and I am not sure what is going on. I've tried everything (port triggering / forwarding, resetting router, resetting computer, resetting ps4, deleting saved files, deleting other games, re-installing ESO, closing all other devices, switching to Wi-Fi etc).

I have Fiber internet (My connection is always well above 100 mb d/l and 90 mb u/l). I am wired connection in to my PS4.

When I try to PvP in an area with a Zerg I cannot do anything. Switch bars, use abilities, or see anyone move (everyone freezes). After about 20 seconds I will have a burst of connection and it's like everyone hit's the fast forward button and I see all their spells fire off and their movements in the exact movement they had then they freeze again.

It happened in Vdsa too. I could load in and right when the mobs loaded in the game freezes and I cannot see any of my friends using any of their abilities or the mobs moving. Then about 20 seconds later it fast forwards and all the mobs are dead. I can't switch bars or cast any abilities.

It happens in Stormhaven.

It's happening a lot lately. I've tried everything that I could think of to do so I am coming to the forums to see if anyone can help me.

Here is a link of what's going on in an area where I would not think I would receive "Zerg" lag. It usually ends with me getting booted or closing app. When I get booted the game says, "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." Even though I do not get kicked from PSN nor does my computer lose internet connection.

Thanks.

The exact same thing is happening to my wife and I for the last week. 90% of the time a zerg is coming then everything just freezes. I can still move around and chat but all else does not move.

I could walk into a breach and give a report on what is where if I wanted to. I've missed multiple ticks because of it. With DB I had the frequent crash straight to dashboard which seems to mostly be resolved but replaced with this freeze till you crash bug.

Now today I was doing some dungeons and constantly getting the freeze to crash. Also trying to get out of a dungeon it took 6 attempts where I'd crash on the load screen. I also had multiple crashes when loading characters today.

My router and Xbox and other troubleshooting has all been done but still getting it. Very frustrating.

Sounds like we have the same problem. I wasn't getting this at release of SotH but it started happening maybe 2 days ago since the patch. How about you?

I am going to ask some questions that may not be relevant but

    Do you have ESO+?

Have you unlocked any extra character slots? If so, have you unlocked all of them?

    Hey film,

I do have ESO Plus but have not unlocked any extra character slots. The same for my wife. In a zerg we both tend to freeze at the same time (but not always) so it would seem connection based but we've both been playing for over a year and these connection problems have just started with the last maintenance.

Do you have a lot of games downloaded on your Ps4? Is your Ps4 hard drive almost full? If so you need to De-frag your Ps4 so your Ps4 does less work client side to find assets for ESO, it helps performance on your end by a large margin. I recommend all Ps4 users De-frag there Ps4 whenever they download new games and updates.

Also, setting your MTU setting to 1473 may help also (in your internet connection options). This was a fix given out from Sony to improve download/upload speeds, disconnects and/or lag in online games. Standard MTU is 1500. It has helped me and many of my friends. For more information on MTU use this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/2qo489/ok_rps4_lets_talk_mtu_max_transmission_unit_to/

I personally believe you may be having an MTU problem because in the video you showcased it seems you are loosing a lot of your packet data. Then when you get the data you go into fast forward mode trying to catch up. Essentially having a lower MTU means that you will create more strain on your network but you will have a lot less errors transferring the incoming data. Since you have Fibre internet, changing your MTU to 1473 won't be an issue. Just want to mention that changing your MTU may be hit or miss. It may help or may not.

Also note, ESO pvp on full populated campaigns is very laggy regardless of how good your own internet is. I've also heard rumors there is a memory leak happening with ESO which is why no matter what you do in pvp, after a couple hours you crash. So its a good idea when your lagging a lot to force close your application and restart the game to basically start fresh (force closing your application keeps you inside Cryodill as well so you don't need to re-queue in a full campaign).

Lemme know if this help's! B)B)B)

Before I saw your message I deleted ESO and re-installed it.

Then I rebuilt/defrag my PS4 and I changed my MTU.(I remember doing this for Destiny when the servers went down). I went to Thornblade and got off a bomb on some red in the middle at Molag. Friends wanted to go to Scourge so we went there and me getting kicked from the game "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." just keeps happening over and over again while no one else in my group (3 other people) are having any problems. :(
