I now see people running around ingame with "The Devhater" as a last name.. Come on folks, get a grip and grow up.. If you can't even handle it in a mature way, maybe it's time to stop playing and take a break..

Not upset at all I just think it's a little silly, plus it really looks bad from the perspective of newer players

Not everyone would know what a Dev is for sure, I'm new to MMO and bought as a console game, it also sounds like it could be a title or something haha BUT I'm with you, the amount of whiners in MMO is unreal and I dont get hating a game but playing it alot sounds like an addiction when I read people that talk like it.

It's the first game I've played where players think they have a sense of entitlement on How a company should operate its business, its hilarious.

@Beardimus Unfortunately, it's pretty common in online games.. Everyone has their own ideas about what's awesome and how the game should be.. When this does not happen, they get frustrated and angry.. Most of them keep it to themselves or let it out in the discussions here on the forum though..

I see lots of chars with silly names running around. I picked them to sound nice, be lore friendly and also, in a few cases to have a sort of personal significance. When creating them I picked the race & gender and spent a lot of time customizing the body and face and making them look nice. If I'll play them a lot, and invest great effort into leveling them I don't want to run a character named Sleeps-in-Pigsty and looking appropriately, regret it and spend as much as I would spend for a couple of DLCs changing that.

As a new player if I saw devhater I'd think the player was a hypocritical idiot. Playing a game they hate and doing their best to make sure everyone knows they hate it is just plain weird.

Now excuse me, I have to stab myself in the eye repeatedly.

Silly names I can understand, and like most people I will just smile and move on.. But names targeting someone is just the trademark of a immature mind.. Imo it does not have a place in games and should be deleted

I'm curious if names that are offensive in some other way are sanctioned in any way. For example if I make a Redguard char with the semblance and name of Osama bin-Laden and run around Daggerfal dressed in a rag cap pirate costume, yelling "Allahu Akbar" in zone chat and casting proximity detonation repeatedly

Pretty sure that is a banable offense 99% of the EULA/TOA's I have read in different games says that you are not allowed to use the names of known/famous/infamous persons

Same with posts here on the forum naming specific devs in a disrespectful way.

Surprises me every monday morning European time how long it takes before a mod in the States is taking action.

deliberate provoking should not be allowed, in posts and names.

This is really a poor example of "criticism". I liked Fengrush's name for one of his chars, however. I think it was something like DesignedbyWrobel. That's subtle and clever in my opinion.

hey, IRL you usually take more than just a persons name to understand you should keep away from them.

So these in game names, a blessing - self-branding.

Yes in irl we judge on more than just names.. But irl parents, usually, give kids normal names.. In a game however, a name can often be related to a persons mindset/maturity.. So in some cases I avoid people based on names
