Magicka Nightblade - PvP

Haven't played my magblade in a long time, and I can't find any recent builds to look at for reference when figuring out how I'm going to gear him.

What's the 'meta' for magblades in PvP these days? Any recommended sets cause I don't see many VD bombers anymore. Not sure if I should go DW or destro, any opinions or links to builds I can use? Thanks.

To be fair magica nb has a LOT of options. I play high regen in your face build, with concealed weapon. Ranged funnel health build is also very viable though! (See sypherpk's build). I even see people still doing good with the ice staff wall of elements build!
As for gear, pretty much all magica sets are viable. I run 5 julianos 4 magnus with dualwield.In theory not amazing for pvp but i outdual most people...
Find a playstyle you like and adjust your gear to it!

I don't want to go and see syphers build really, so many people already go and copy it I'm looking for something a bit unorthodox.

I have an idea in mind, but it involves heavy armour and I haven't seen any heavy magblade builds, so wondering what the pros and cons to them are before I spend all my gold gearing my characters out.

The other thing I'm curious of is how people set their bars up, I find there's a lot of utility with a magblade and it's hard to chose which to fit on your bar.

I am currently running a variation of SAP tank build

Bossmer (for stamina, recovery, extra sealthy, poison resist, fall damage protection)

5 piece Alchemist all impen (3 heavy/2 light) (alternate 5 piece Juli Infused/Divines for PVE)
2 piece Molag or 2 Malubeth (2 heavy)
3 piece Willpower
2 piece Vicious Death or 2 Tourags (sword and shield)
Restoration staff (Maelstrom or Sithis)

Mass Hysteria (swapped to Piecring Armor/Inner Fire for PVE)

So far I am having a pretty good time with its versatility. Alchemist and Molag combination allow for surprise burst against unsuspecting player (also note the heavy armor passive that increases your weapon and spell damage with every hit...), Malubeth and Juli offer a more rounded approach

DW and destro can both hit hard. You should consider your objectives. Sometimes I like playing support heal crowd control in pvp so mobility regen and mitigation matter more than damage output. Lotus fan+fear+healing ward will save someone from dying. Running purge and popping barrier while running thru flaming oil will help your side out. Plus if you're survivable you can kite overly aggressive enemies to your team's advantage. Etc -- check out warlock for this.

I think magicka nb damage is decent but I can't get the insta kills like I do with a stam version. DW is nice for GvG since you can look for harmed opponents and almost always KO them but I find it harder to proc the spectral bow if I'm running it on the offbar - and I think this skill is a key to mnb burst.

For gear: elegant looks decent for staff users. I wanna try winterborn. The ice staff is a little less burst than flame but more control. I've used 5 piece fasallas on dw and really liked it although Willpower is still pretty much the nuts imo. Twiceborn star with undaunted passives working seems a good goal. With heavy armor Magnus or julianos I'd have sustain issues but that's me.
