Why is the game unplayable during prime hours?

Hi,

Been noticing that over the last week or so the game has been very hard to play during prime hours on the NA server do to movement glitches, lag and delayed input signals. I have triple checked my system for updates, drivers and connectivity (I have a GTX 970 card, with the game fully optimized and a i5 4670K).

I have also tested my Internet connection which comes in on an average of 40 mbps, more than enough to fully utilize the game's content online.

And still the lag persists, regardless of if in Cyrodiil or in Stormhaven. I have even tried the lowest graphics settings, with the same issue.

Which leaves me with 1 option:

The megaserver.

Is ZOS experiencing issues with their NA megaserver? I just want an answer, becoming increasingly frustrating...

Are you using a wifi internet connection? If so it might be worth trying an ethernet cable. I'm not saying incidentally that the problem is at your end, I've no idea what the status of the NA server is as I don't use it, I'm just mentioning one other thing you could check at your end. You might also want to post this on the PC Technical Support forum as more technically minded people are more likely to assist you there.

Things have been pretty okay for me on PC/NA recently, I think I lagged for about 3 seconds once last weekend in Cyrodiil and that's it.

For the OP, testing your internet connection's bandwidth will not tell you if you have a problem with latency.

Thank you for the response, I am actually using wifi right now as I only have one ethernet cable which is the one plugged into the router, but I'll have to buy another one and test!

The input lag is certainly back.

Also, make sure the ports that you should have open on your router are open

Google make and model of the router and the word Port and you will find detailed instructions on how to do this.
