enrage is dumb, and number requirements is right up there

one of my favorite things to do in previous MMO's was to try and solo raids, or to just start one and see how far you could get. it required a lot of skill and often an incredibly balanced build and usually took a LONG time.

these two mechanics eliminate that idea and fun simply "because" up your taking to long you just die because! oh you must have 12 people for this because these 12 platforms prevent advancement!

i don't get the harm and letting any number of people participate in these activates or letting it take forever.

and no malestorm and dragonstar are not the same as raids, saying they are shows your ignorance not mine.

    I don't get it.

    You want to solo large group content because its fun, but in the first barrier you come here to complain? If you enjoy soloing large groups content, you shouldn't complain about large groups mechanics. Just saying.

    there not mechanics, they are artificial restrictions put in place to prevent solo / short man as well as encourage a DPS meta because if you don't do enough damage you just die.

    how can you encourage a more survivable sustain oriented meta when that very idea is prevented by all raid mechanics that encourage killing as fast as you can or you die?

    It's a necessary evil. It makes the encounter more interesting for groups to have a DPS test. Otherwise, the fight could go on forever.

    And how the other mechanics are not? How convenient, the ones that you can bypass are okay, the ones that you can't are bad and should go away.

    I agree with OP, first time ive found these platforms in some craglorn dung and it was "***? I can solo it! Let me in!". Its artificial barrier that just require more players not skill... In AION if you mastered your toon you could solo many group things and nobody complained...
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    Those "stand there to open" is indeed kind lazy design, but in trials like the group split in AA its required because you need to complete the objetive simultaneously and you need group coordenations to that.

    You see the key there? Group content requires (at least should) group coordenation to complete. Asking ZOS to remove group mechanics from group content is kind dull.

    You speak of enrage yet I have not seen a hard rage mechanic in the game due to a fight taking to long. Many fights become more challenging after a point but no engage and the mechanics are workable with skill.

    You go on to speak of fights requiring enough dps to clear if. Well, for normal the dps requirement is fairly low. For vet a small group should not be able to clear the trial as the trial should be challenging. As for normal trials AA is the only one that requires 12 in the group and can actually be done with less, theoretically as few as 6.

    In other words, if you want vet trials to be easy enough to clear sign a small group, NO.

    I soloed Ra Kotu before in a 30min fight with 370ish CP.

    Was a lot of fun and very difficult. I'm not complaining that it was unfair I couldn't progress after the kill.

    That content is made for 12 people -_-

    I mostly agree with the op, having artificial requirements for a certain number of players that don't need to do anything skilled and just have to move to a certain position while not in combat is annoying. I don't mind if a boss has group size requirements done by mechanics (e.g. freeing each other at Ozara), but in AA it's just stupid. Why can't we continue and kill the trash just because one person disconected?
