Why can't we see how CP effect our abilities without confirming it?

I think it's stupid we have to pay 3k gold each time we want to test CP out. Why can't we just see how the unconfirmed points effect us out of combat? It would make things a lot easier to test to see whether one thing is better than the other.

You can. It's called math and I believe it's mandatory in most school districts.

How do abilities scale then, because Thaurmage increases the DoT abilities damage but Mighty does not.

Also how do I see my critical multi then? There is a lot of unknowns which is why I never bothered to learn math.
