PvP = crit and dodge?

So after coming back to ESO from a long break I've noticed that the only way to have any fighting chance in pvp is to pump crit damage and crit resistance. Probably 95% of players I fight against are crit based nightblades that can put anyone down In matter of few seconds (best scenario) while being able to dodge almost all attacks including ultis. Going to PVP without impenetrable armor is a suicide as well. A year ago when I've played a bit more PvP was actually fun. Battles were long and people had all kinds of builds. Now its all about that crit and evasion (even all mages sport that skill!). What went wrong? Do people really enjoy current pvp?(from non ganker perspective) are there any plans to make PVP about more than just crits?

If that's the case, why Zenimax didn't do anything about it? If everyone sport same stat build and pvp strategy then something is seriously broken.

I enjoy PvP quite a lot. I am a dedicated healer with very little damage. If I am solo, I count it as a victory if I can escape or outlast.... when in a group, it's victory if my group doesn't wipe.

just about an hour ago I caught a casual sniper nb about 40 mt. away from Aleswell mine. He literally dodged like 7-8 times in a row , all the way back to the mine

Crit is nearly useless in PvP. It should have pure Weapon Damage and Evasion for stamina, and extreme Max Magicka and Magicka regen for magicka.

Too easy, I can dodge 12 times in a row without any pause, and that's with only 20 points in Tumbling and 2.4k stamina regen.

Not sure about extreme max magicka at the expense of spell damage on my NB.

I'm not a damage dealer myself. I've enjoyed my balanced tank build before all the updates rolled out (about a year ago?). Fights seemed way more balanced.

Oh they can. I've played many mmos and I never had a problem with glass cannons (as in, it's part of the game and it's fine). The thing is, in every other MMO there is a trade-off. You deal massive damage but die very easily (still, fights aren't 1-2 seconds long like in ESO - it's actually exciting), or you deal little damage but can take some hits. You can also balance it out. In ESO, you can have massive and extreme survivability. Everyone knows it's the meta right now. I don't know how is it on PC (I've switched from PC to XO this year) but on XBOX ONE you hardly see anything else than nightblade crit builds with evasion running 24/7.

I love fighting critbased Nbs, they are the easiest ones to kill. Too bad i dont find em that often, where are they? Give em to me.

You seem to be missing the point and must live in PvE land if you don't see the current terrible imbalance.

Wrobel is the cancer. Anyway I feel like critical build are not that uselfull: I prefear "white" damage since most good player are using imp. gear (yes you can 2shot the typical potato running in full divine/infused)

Can't do this on pc, dodge rolling cancels regen bc you have to block first.

If your having trouble with NB gankers just run the other meta. Reactive, Transmuatiton and Malabeth on a magika templar. Its so funny watching terribad NB's try to gank you from stealth and realize they cant even come close to killing or out sustaining you and then try to run but cant cause jabs pulls out of cloak.

That's the problem. In order to play PVP you need to be one of 2 as others call it "cancer builds". I love that in PVE I can build my character the way I want, play the way I like and still feel that even tho I'm not the strongest, I'm pretty strong and do well in group activities. Before all the updates (pc version back then) I was doing great in pvp with my pve build as well. Again, I wasn't the strongest around, but I could wreck some havoc and support my team (I'm always a tanky build). Now if my team is made out of anything else than these cancer builds, they get all stealth killed in a second. Trying to fight back is pointless as everything get's dodged, even the ultimates.

Speaking about dodging..I wanted to see what's the deal with evasion, so I've added it to my tank and ...*** lee sheet! I dodge almost everything. Snares? What snares??? Something is seriously broken here. No wonder every player I meet in pvp is half transparent all the time...

You have plenty of other interesting options. People just have a tendency of pigeonholing themselves into believing only certain things will ever work. Since relatively few people think for themselves in this game, when it comes to making builds, people just get stuck in the same meta or fotm or whatever.

So no, its not all about crit and evasion

Yes and no. As a tank, with spell and physical resistance at 33k and WITHOUT mpenetrable I still get hit for 6-10k by every single player I meet. It's pretty crazy. This alone forces me to adapt and make the build that follows same principles. I thought I had a choice until I've tried the cancer build myself. Adjusting the crit mechanics and evasion (yep, everyone sport this skill, it's that "good") would do a lot of good.
Honestly, how many of you don't wear impenetrable in PVP and survive more than 4 hits?

Firstly, like FIGHT CLUB, we don't talk about the EVASION/SHUFFLE bug

Secondly, maybe #softcaps might be just what PVP needs to make it "balanced" again. The BATTLESPIRIT nerfs as a sledgehammer approach to certain skill issues was not the right approach.

Something has to be wrong with it, it's comical how much I dodge when I use it and how much others dodge me. It's a hell of a lot better than when I run Blur.

Not sure about shuffle stack thing. All I do is cast evasion once and I dodge like Jackie Chan. So do others. Today NB in IC literally dodged 7 of my attacks in a row without a single roll. That's pretty insane. 4 dodges in a row are very common though.
