I have been thinking about the best combination of dps/heals that I can do. I have a good baseline and a few skills that are throw ins that can change depending on what the group needs. Generally I have a dps bar and a healing bar. Most of the Heals I use are HOT heals one of them being my cleanse skill that heals over 12 secs. That way I can pop a few heals when needed and keep up the dps while healing my group.

My question comes in with ultimates. Currently I run Nova(Templar skill) and rejuvenating barrier. I probably will keep the barrier but was thinking of getting meteor or going vamp for passives and bat swarm. Which would be better to get in general. either it be PVP or PVE.

Before anyone asks no I do not have meteor so I will have to find the books for it so either way would be a grind to get the better ultimate.

I use Agressive Warhorn and Nova.
Warhorn is a great group buff, and Nova's damage mitigation will help more in the end than a barrier.

Warhorn is a must, rotate it with your tank.

Increases your dps by so much.

so you are saying that nova's damage mitigation is better than a 28k barrier that gives 17740 hp over 30s

So is that mainly for bosses or the general mobs in the dungeon. I normally use my barrier as an oh crap moment so I get a sec to heal up everyone or if an aoe wipes half the group etc.

I agree with the others on warhorn. I also recommend going vampire for the extra regen at rank 2. It's not that bad with the loss of health regen and fire doesn't hurt with some points into elemental defender.

Barrier is good for four person content but if you're going for trials then you will probably want nova for the damage mitigation.

Most dungeons can be healed using HoT, I wouldn't use them for trials though.

I have a healing bar and a buff/debug bar. I have an emergency heal on both bars. I run SPC and Aether for the buff to damage.

Some of my abilities do damage as well as provide utility or heals (shards, ritual of retribution), my main focus however is on keeping people alive, then debuffing the boss, then buffing my team and finally if I get the chance some DPS.
