What is your favorite starting zone?

I just wanted to hear what you guys think. Judge them based on how much fun you had completing the storyline and exploring the region itself. My personal favorite would probably be Bal Foyen. This is because I've never seen Morrowind before, (didn't play Elder Scrolls III), and it was just amazing to see massive mushrooms, netch, and completely different architecture for once.

Stros M'Kai! The visuals are awesome but mostly I just love the pirate crew you can assemble (well, with a couple of exceptions). I love running into those guys and seeing what messes they get themselves into :).

If completing the quest didn't cause irreparable damage to the village, Bleakrock would probably get my vote. I tend to just get the skyshards and then back door into Bal Foyen for those shards.

Roost is a bit too disjointed for my taste.

Betnikh's shards are locked behind Stros' storyline completion, so luckily the strong heist story helps with its replayability. And it's a well-designed zone. Hoping One Tamriel doesn't turn it into a crowded tourist destination.

I love the beach-like atmosphere and water of Khenarthi's Roost. There's a quest in Khenarthi's though, called Diplomatic Immunity. It's an essential quest for following the Aldmeri Dominion storyline, but it's by far the most boring quest in the game.

You just run around talking to people for a good 10 minutes. No action at all.

If Bleakrock wouldn't have gotten destroyed as part of its questline, it would have been a great place to level up my crafting on alt characters as literally all crafting stations as well as a bank are mere feet from one another.

Since that place does, however, get destroyed, I'm giving my vote to Bal Foyen. Same thing as Bleakrock but Provisioner station is much further away than I would like it to be.

I'm sick to death of starter islands. If it weren't for the skyshards, easy xp, achievements, and my own crippling need to finish everything I'd never do them.

Stros, fell in love with ESO during the Beta on that island (DK too) played a dark elf nightblade on bleakrock island was like "hey this is going to be such a cool game."

played a Breton dragonknight on Stor M'kai and was like "I love this game!!"

I wish there was more to do on Stros and not split between two small zones, I LOVE that island.
    ESO player since beta.
previously full time subscriber, beta-2024, game got too disappointing.

I voted for Khenarthi's Roost because I do like that it's just a small island, and it isn't too dragging for my taste.

But I do like Bleackrock Isle, juuuust because of that one-stop-crafting station. On my crafter I made sure I didn't destroy the town, that is what I want crafting stations should be. It has everything, even has a banker, a bag upgrade and a dye station (don't know if it has a Mystic seller too, does it?). Only thing it doesn't have is a writ station, which is a shame. lol

Stros M'Kai ! I find it the most fun, and the cowardly orc + Grubby and Marq quests are always amusing.

I do love Khenarthi's Roost for it's wonderful scenery and tropical vibe though.

Stros M'Kai. Played every beta there and it will always hold a special place for me due to the feeling of wonder I had from first experiencing everything. I also really love the desert theme of it, the Redguard culture, the NPCs (Jakarn and Crafty Lerisa especially) and the story felt the most interesting compared to the other starter areas.

I ended up going Pact when the game officially came out during early release, so Bleakrock is a close second. I also love the cold, snowy feel of it, as it's more exaggerated there compared to Eastmarch due to being further north. Being a Nord I feel right at home, too.

Well I have a great fondness for Khenarthi's Roost cause I was starting there every time during the betas. Such places like the Temple of the Mourning Springs and Mistral have a special place in my heart.

I also very like Stros M'Kai for its storyline - for me there is the most interesting plot in the whole DC territory, maybe along with the Rivenspire storyline. While Betnikh is by far the most boring one.

Yet I voted for Bleakrock Isle - love the landscapes and the story too.
What a pity that the town is permanently destroyed after you finish the story here. It was such an atmospheric place.
In Bal Foyen I prefer more the design and landscape than the story, but the latter is not that bad though. I like when it comes to make a decision who you want to save and who will be doomed - then you can feel that your character really matters.

I like Khenarthi's Roost for the visuals though Bal Foyen too for the same reason. I think I find the Stros M'Kai storyline the best though but having Jakarn flirt with me helps. It is hard to pick because I like them all for different reasons. I am not sure there is big winner.

Vulkhel Guard is my favorite but since it is not on the list I will have to go with Betnikh, it is the second one to have made an impression on me. I love the orc stronghold there.
