GUILD TRADER IMPROVEMENT Proposal

I have seen many complaining of how the Guild Trader system is being exploited (for lack of better words) by some GMs. I will leave that dead horse alone. haha

What I find is the mechanics of having to travel from location to location to location to find a Trader with the item I want... then find the price is more than the gold I have in my pocket. I imagine from a developer or server admin perspective this constant traveling is as tying up server resources that could be better served in actual game play (dungeons, PVP, etc).
I am an ESO subscriber and find the need to travel between so many towns discouraging to my time in game-play

I would like to propose a "general market place" (like a flea market) where any player can go to the market and search all traders who have purchased a booth in the global market These virtual boots can be purchased with game gold or CROWNS ... maybe even with AP in Cyrodiil. This way the players are not having to travel across so many geographies to find an item and smaller guilds can still place items up for sale. One boot in the Market Place can be designed to only search for "armor", then another trader only for crafting supplies, etc. My theory on this is that response time to the player searches will balance server CPU utilization for better performance and player experiences.

Dedicated vendors that extract only that particular item from guild stores that have an existing stalls? Different. Not bad, not entirely good but different. I would love to see an optional buy-in for those guilds that don't have a public stall so they can sell those particular goods. But it's definitely different from the standard "Urrction Huurse" posts that keep popping up.

I like the idea of being able to post my item for sale for currencies other than gold. Possibly unbalanced, but certainly very interesting. Being able to post my item for 25,000g / 5,000ap / 12,000tv (choose how you buy) would be a nice option. I can understand why they'd want to leave crowns out of this as currently crown sales are 99% account bound and this would break that limitation.

Your idea of keeping the guild traders in place but allowing for a centralized area for searching has some merit as well. If they attached an additional tax to the service, I'd be all for it as there would still be some incentive to wandering around looking for deals and this proposal would make the roadside traders a MUCH more useful option for guilds while relieving some of the pressure and necessary high bids in the more popular locations.

Sounds a lot like the auction house in many other games. I think this would greatly benefit the buyers as more direct competition drives pricing down, but I worry what it would do to the in game economy.

I wont like it because I may huge money by getting items from one guild that sells for 6k and selling it on another guild that sells for 7,300.

The time it would take the game to search the entire listings database for something would probably be longer than travelling from trader to trader.

Not to mention that someone could have bought the item by the time you got there.

I see merits in this however I think this would upset the apple cart too much for there to be support.

If they did ever do something like this what about the global search being an optional part of housing. A market explorer thing or npc that searches all the stalls and gives you the location. If it was crown store item maybe ZoS would find incentive to make such a thing.

I like the idea of selling things for different currencies.

this would actually make the guilds with more money able to buy up all the items at x price from other guild traders without running around and resell them at higher price y driving prices up. Yes you will get to see all traders in one place, but you will see prices skyrocket due to it.
