Would anyone be willing to train someone who stinks at PvP? (PC, EU, EP/DC)

Simply, put, I'm not very good and would highly appreciate a more experienced player teaching me a few new tricks.
Not quite sure why I'm doing so badly; currently have no problem as DD/DPS on PvE, never been good at PvP, so figured it's time to learn a few new tricks.

Build: Stamina. 219 cp
Set: mostly marksman's, with jack of flanking.

First bar, dual wield; Rending slashes IV, Flying Blade, Piercing Mark IV, Ambush II, Shadowy Disguise IV, Incapacitating Strike IV
Second bar, bow: Poison injection IV, Draining shot IV, Focused aim I, Retreating maneuver III , shadowy disguise IV, aggressive horn IV.

I also have a DK tank, stam.

First bar, 2H: Critical rush IV, Reverse Slice IV, Flame lash IV, Rapid Maneuver IV, Igneous shield, IV, Sturdy Horn IV
Second bar, restoration staff: Regeneration IV, Blessing of protection IV, Illustrious healing II, Echoing Vigor IV, Immovable III, Magma Armor IV.

Looking for a good set for the tank, a mixture of stam regen and magicka regen would be best. And yes I use 2H, because it worked better than shield for a long time.

Considering getting rid of the bow.

With a NB you'd be an excellent ganker. Keep the bow! You're bow bar will work in PvP. However, for your first bar, switch to 2H. Make the first bar as following: Shadowy Disguise, Ambush, Surprise Attack, Dizzying Swing, and Reverse Slice. Your ULTs are good.

Hm...would one hand and shield be viable?

And currently this NB dies very quickly, so I'm thinking a few extra shield abilities could be handy to have. I did put ambush on my bow bar for a while, but I favor retreating maneuver for the added speed.

@runagate in-game, DC like it says in my sig.

I take people around and show them the ropes all the time. There's more than a couple Trial carebears you see posting around here that I took to Cyrodiil for the first time. I think PvEers make the best AvAers.

I'll message you when I get in game!

And yeah- I do reasonably well in PvE, and like I said, feel like I'm doing what I should be doing to improve upon myself anc current builds, so maybe it's just one of the games in which I'm just bad at PvP in :D

On a stam Nb and stam dk one hand and shield is viable.I used to run it on my stamblade and did very well.currently going 2h and S&B.NB its a very fun and tanky setup while still being Able to pur out great damage.

I'll definitely give that a try when I level up that skill line then, sounds fun :)

At that cp go into the no cp campaign.

If your a new pvp'er fights usually last longer there and are more forgiving because of the lower time to kill.

Google a build for your class / race, google a animation cancelling video, lefty lucy has a nice one of those.

Google some gameplay and pay attention to what skillls they use and such, what they do, how they react to big damage, how they set up big damage etc...
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Done all that, save for the watching videos. I've been playing mostly defensive, but this squishy NB still can't take down a target.

For now I'm leveling one hand and shield :)

Here's what I've noticed. I've fought people in Cyrodiil with 5k WD and won. What many people do wrong is they stack so much Weapon or Spell Damage that as they're are trying to dish out as much damage as possible, they might miss or dodge or be hitting someone who can heal through the damage. Then after around 10 seconds of fighting, their resources are gone!
Try to drop some damage for some sustain. High damage isn't really going to make too much difference if you can't stay in the fight long enough. Now those high damage builds will be great for ganking as someone said above, but not in true PvP

So much of PVP has nothing to do with your build. Things like: don't stand in red, see Zerg then hide, don't fall for the lone guy in the chair in the field trick, having a guild for back up, equipping various potions for different situations, being able to self heal, using line of site, figuring out your rotation, knowing what the proper counters are to flavor of the month builds are, and not being Leroy Jenkins.

I'm currently going for sustainability as opposed to ganking. There's not much you can really do against builds built for healing- I mean, I've done as much research as I can, refined my build a few times. I just need to work on using it, and I hope to find someone who can help me learn the pros and cons for this particular style.

    - Stand in red and survive, just to annoy your enemies.
    - Ride right past the guy in the chair to get the gankers out of hiding.
    - Learn to rely on yourself alone.
    - And always run straight through enemy zergs.

True that....I'm trying my best for a low level, it's a shame there aren't different cp servers (say 50-250cp, 300-500cp etc), as it would be nice to play against more around my own level. Luckily there's update 12 soon, which means dueling!

Bit of a dumb question, but what is a good way to grind/farm CP?

Why don't you play on Azura's Star then? You still continue to accumulate CPs there even though they're disabled there.
