I've been blowing through my gold trying to optimize my build through CP and I was just wondering if anybody had any insight into getting the most bang for my buck.
I have 5-7 attacks that scale to stam (All but two have a DOT component); and use 3-4 that scale to Magic/Elemental ( probably half DOT, but I'm not sure about skills like Draw Essence and Invigoration Drain if they are considered DOTs or just channels)
I'd like to optimize the build in the Blue CP fields.
Currently I've got 100 in Mighty, 25 in Thaumaturge, 25 in Elemental Expert and 25 in Blessed; and then the last two are in Precise Strikes and Elfborn
I'm thinking though that I've got as many total DOTs in PVE as I do skills that scale to Physical Damage, and about 4 skills that scale with elemental (with obvious overlap
occurring between Thaumaturge and the other two. This sets up a situation where I have roughly 6 skills that would benefit from Mighty, 5-7 that would benefit
from Thaumaturge, and 4 that would gain from Elemental expert.
At the same time, the Dots are not really the focus in PVP, so I don't want to overspend there and I'm worried that Mighty and ELemental Expert will better enhance the skills
because I don't know if they boost just the initial hit of a flame damage DOT, or the entire Thing (Initial hit + DOt, but to a smaller degree than Thauma)
I also do need CP in Blessed because I need 120 CP in the Red damage mitigation constellation for the break
free passive, 46 in resistant to get me to at least 60% base crit damage mitigation, and 10 in Bastion to enhance my Brawler Shield (I like it at 2750 per enemy hit so I can boost
it to 20K+ easily whenever I find myself outnumbered, and to start the carnage that ensues from Engulfing Flames, Talons Draw Essence, and Tornado for Aoe mob annihilation),
so I can only spare 1 for Quick healing. this means that Blessed is a must
So any ideas on how best to implement this? Should I put the most emphasis or an equal emphasis on Thaumaturge as I do on Mighyt, or does the importance of mighty
in terms of single target damage trump out increased dot damage?
Currently I'm considering putting it out there in a ratio of 7 Thaumaturge to 6 Mighty to , 4 Ele Expert to 3 Blessed.
I don't think any other Blue CP should be invested in beyond maybe a single point because the gains are either flat amounts or percentages of even smaller percentages (Current crit
ratings of 39% weapons critical and 32% Spell Critical when slotting Inner Light on my magic bar) by my maths.
Also, should I push to get the 75 CP passive in elemental expert and blessed's constellation since as a build that uses Alchemist, I will be constantly drinking potions and most of
my spells cost between 2.4 and 3.8K? It would cost me the ability to put any more than 102 CP into Mighty and Thaumaturge. If so, then I think I'd need to focus on just
Mighty for the most part (75 in Mighty/27 in Thaumaturge/58 Elemental Expert/17 Blessed?)
The Warrior Mundus is a given in PVE because of the boost to both spell damage and weapon damage. I've considered the shadow or one of the regen ones for PVP, but I think my
crit chance isn't high enough for the Shadow to improve upon the warriors benefits and avoiding boons to just Magic or Stam seems a key aspect of optimizing a hybrid.
Rough estimate of my stats
Weapon and Spell Damage unbuffed: 3150
Buffed: 4100
Buffed with Alchemist and weapon damage enchantment proc: 5600
With Blue Max Stam and Magic Food
Magic: 19.9-21.5K depending on bar setups
Health: 17.5K (18.8K when using entropy morph outside of Cyrodi, so around 22.5-24K in PVP)
Stam: 34.5K
Recovery (with Intellect and Endurance:
Stam 1150
Magic 1000
Build Setup
GEAR:
Armor (5 Medium, 1 Light, 1 Heavy; Currently 6 are legendary and 1 is epic)
2 (Chest, Legs) Infused with Prismatic Enchants, 2 little pieces with divines and Prismatic enchantments, Divines Helmet with Stam enchant
2 little pieces with Divines and Magic enchants.
3 Pelinal's
4 Clever Alchemist
Jewerly (WD enchantments; all robust and epic)
Agility set
Weapons:
Pelinal's Legendary Nirnhoned Sword with Crusher enchant
Pelinal's Epic Sharpen Mace with weapon damage enchant
Clever Alchemist Legendary Sharpened Maul with Breaching/Resolve draining poison
Typical PVE Bar setup
DW
Burning Talons, Tornado, Draw Essence, Engulfing Flames/Flames of Oblivion, Igneous Shield Flawless Dawnbreaker
TH
Lightweight Beast Trap, Venomous claw, Brawler, Dizzying Swing, Rally; Ultimate: for PVE FD; for PVP Shooting Star so I can drop Dawnbreaker right after it if I get
caught in a mob.
For PVP I swap in 4 impens for 1 infused and 3 divines; giving me a 4 Impen, 2 Divine, 1 Infused setup
On the DW I run Inner light instead of Engulfing Flames or FoO; and I use Invigorating Drain and Structured Entropy instead of Tornado and Draw Essence sometimes.
TH bar the same except I slot Shuffle over Venomous Claw and either Stampede, Silver Leash, or Execuitioner over LW Beast Trap
Any help by experienced Mag DKs regarding playstyle, rotations, CP would be greatly appreciated.
