Hey I'm new to the arena beat it 3 times recently. I'm also newish to the Templar. I'm just looking for a decent build that can do vma without to much hassle.

Just wondering for gear sets, mundus and move layouts as I rarely play Templar. Thanks.

My mag Templar is fully levelled except for undaunted and destro skill line.

My stamplar is only lvl 40 atm.

I've had a look elsewhere but most stuff is not upto date. Also note I have monster sets and already willpower, julianos. Is this the recommended set up?

Thankfully, the two types of Templars play rather similarly.

They use the standard gear setup of 5 piece Julianos or Hundings, 3 Agility/Willpower, favorite Monster Set

You'll be following the standard route of DPSing, which is drop your DOTs and then use your spammable, which is Biting Jabs/Puncturing Sweeps.

But, as a Templar, unlike Magicka Sorcerer/Magicka NB, your main damage source comes from melee range, so you need to be careful about that. So, it makes attacking ranged mobs harder. As a magicka build, Crushing Shock might be a good ability for both the interrupt and the damage. As a Stamina setup, you will have a harder time with range, so you need to close the gap faster, but on the bright side, your ranged Stamina DOTs will tick for more damage. However, as a Templar, you have access to a gap closer that also functions as an interrupt, if it makes you feel better.

For survivability, as Stamplar, you have your standard Shuffle + Vigor. As Magplar, you have access to your spammable being a heal, in addition to strong healing and shields. Something I would recommend is avoid taking Breath of Life. Sure, it's a strong heal, but it costs a lot, and in the end, it just heals you, whichi s what your spammable does. A good substitute would be to take Healing Ward instead. Get good with the reaction time, and you can get a really big shield, and then heal yourself up with Puncturing Sweeps. Also, Magplars have easy access to Annulment, through Light Armor. Good use of this will prevent you from being 100-0'd in a second. Be careful not to spam it though, as it has a notable cost.

In summation, as either magicka or stamina Templar, you have access to strong DOTs, a good spammable, and survivability (easy access to Major Mending). They are well fit to tackle vMA.

I am no expert on templar, but I did take my healer through VMA for the title. Other than the last boss, i actually found it pretty easy. Sweep is a pretty amazing skill in here. The one thing templars struggle with is sustain. Here is what I did, not saying its BIS, but it worked.

5 Julianos, 2 Skoria, 3 Willpower, VMA Destro and Resto (they could be anything). I like the destro staff over swords because it really helped the sustain issue. I also opted for the Atro mundus, but thief is more damge. I messed around with my bars a bit throughout the run, but this is what I ended up with.

Destro: Sweep, Radiant Glory (healing morph is better in here), Toppling charge, BoL, Blockade, Meteor.
Resto: Purifying Ritual (nice for snares), Channeled Focus, Repentence, annulment, flex(Rapid Regen or Healing Ward), Nova.

Resto bar prob isnt even needed. I know people that go sword and board on their back bar, you could probably also go Destro/DW and throw your execute on your back bar.

I got my first clear with 5 julianos, skoria set, 3 willpower, 2/1 torugs pact w/ sword. Harness magicka is great for sustain as your regen will be low- mine was around 970 when I cleared.

You can get to Mage guild 10 in an hour or less from 6. Just look in your lore book (Shalidors Library) collection- find the areas that you've almost completed (8/10, 9/10, etc.) and Google the Dulfy lorebook website (or individual areas and Dulfy guide will show up). Each time you finish an area you get a bonus 5 extra books worth of MG experience. I went from 8-10 in way less than an hour.

I appreciate your help, I'm aware of this but all the books I already have are completed sets, it means I have to goto silver and gold zones with the map not uncovered yet and do it that way :(

Yeah that makes it a bit more grueling with no wayshrines but you could totally do it in a couple hours tops. Meteor is worth it even if you had to grind 20 hours.
