Do you remember the good times when people were forced to buy WW/vamp bites?

It was awesome when I was able to get 10k every week by selling vamp bite. Everytime when npc ww's or vampires spawned group of people(who already were vamp/ww) just ran into spawns and killed those npc's. But then people ruined whole thing by starting to bite others for free.

I also remember the tears they cried when they came onto the forums and insisted that, "no, no, no, you don't get it, we're 'roleplaying' monster hunters."

I also remember when the going rate for bites was around 25k. Never got more than 10k for mine, though.

Unfortunately extorting large sums of gold from newbies for something that can easily be obtained is usually short lived.

I was never forced to buy anything where did that come from ? Was a pretty sad day when people when people had to buy them if they were not in a guild that shared bites like my guild did or get bitten by the proper npc. /shrug

Maybe forced was wrong word to use.
And yes guys who killed npc's(me included) were being *********. I got scammed at shrine few times bu then one time I managed to got the bite from npc before others killed them. After that I didnt become scammer but I started hunt those npc's with other vamps.

I don't remember buying or selling bits. I don't remember being forced to buy a bite and I became a vamp within 2 weeks of launch. I give bites to any guild member that wants one. Much easier ways to make gold in the game by merely playing it.

I remember people being total *** and killing the spawns, yes. One of the reasons I decided on a few ww characters. Like more than one in EP, and at least one in AD and DC.

I make it a point to go to zones and offer bites, or whisper anyone who asks for one to offer it for free. My guildies get bites for free, of course, but I make sure to offer it to anyone who wants one. There are ways to get gold that doesn't involve griefing and ruining the game for other players.

They didn't go anywhere. I got a natural bite in the wild (no other player involved) a couple days ago.

Nope. When the *** don't kill them, they are still there. The other night people were out getting bit by npc spawns. You realize the only reason ZOS started selling the bites was because of the *** players who were killing all the spawns to make people pay for bites, right? People who kept seeing the *** kill the spawns came to the forums and used /feedback to complain. Zos provided an alternative. Players started stepping up to give out bites for free so no one would have to use the crown store unless they wanted to.

It's apparently a pretty popular conspiracy theory in some quarters. If we're talking about people who don't understand the rare spawn mechanics, and have either never seen the infection spawns personally, or got extremely lucky with the spawns before; then it kinda makes sense to think the spawns were pulled from the game. I mean, actually finding the infection spawns without a map (mental or otherwise) has always been a bit obnoxious and time consuming.

I remember it well. Shortly after early access, I finally got to the Rift to get bit and I find people camping the spawns in order to make people buy their bites.

I often keep a Vampire alt parked at the shrine. Nothing pleases me more than stomping all over a bite seller with a free bite.

People still camp those spawn areas to prevent players from getting to them. They do it just to troll people though, because it's a long time before the next full moon.

Well yep maybe I was. But I did it only for maybe 2 times cause I didnt know how was mooncycle in ESO working. And I didnt ask for 10k, it was offered to me. Nowadays I only bite for free.

But for me it was maybe the best feeling when I managed to got bite from wild vamp cause it wasnt easy at all.

Bite sellers were the reason I created my guild and half of the reason I chose to become a werewolf in the game before I even purchased it.

Story time: Before even buying ESO I remember being shocked when discovering that people were scamming others for bites, killing wild spawns and also selling bites for ridiculous prices. I decided straight away that I will become a werewolf and give my bite for free every week to anyone who needed it.
After a short time helping people in this way, I wondered if anyone else shared these ideals and decided to create Priests of Hircine to bring together werewolf players who believe in free bites only. Turns out there were
We have now given over 1700 bites for free. And we have over 400 members.

I hope to long continue to give free bites to all those players that struggle to find wild spawns, the ones who had their money stolen, and the ones who can't afford to pay the seller demands. I think everyone should be able to have this skill line for free if they wish Being a werewolf is a great thing, it's a pleasure to play as one, and even more rewarding to give your bites away. I'm still constantly surprised by how disbelieving and greatful people are when hearing about free bites being offered.

Never bought one, never sold one. Waited for the spawns, and when someone asked for a bite I didn't charge them.

This topic just reminded me that my character was bitten by a vampire a long time ago, and I need to actually move forward with the transformation. Once I do, and the skill line is up enough, I will be offering bites freely. Charging for bites is cancerous for developing a sense of community, and I'm glad that steps were taken to prevent it.
