So this is just a post documenting a game mechanic I thought had been left way back in Skyrim. In Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim there was a technique to scale even the highest of mountains and it was to spam jump at where two lines of texture meet and you could basically fly up vertical walls. Now ESO is another kettle of fish and has a fairly strict game world that doesn't let you go places it doesn't want you to......unless you are so persistent like me the game just gives in and lets you go where no Altmer is supposed to go.
So to start off I came out of a quest and was blocked by sheer cliff faces and I really didn't want to run all around the mountain to my next quest marker, I haven't been many places in Greenshade and there wasn't a Shrine near to where I wanted to travel.

I tried going up the side of the entrance slope but there was an invisible wall but undeterred I tried the other side

It looked a tight squeeze but I managed to fit my slim self through the gap and was met by what I figured was the end of my travels but spamming jump in the gaps helped me clear the first challenge

After a bit of gap jumping I was then was on top of the entrance of the dungeon and figured I had reached a higher playable area

What I had managed to do was get up out of the proper game area which was fairly bland itself, no enemies, nodes or anything

But I looked up and saw the mountain top and thought why the hell not for old times sake and so set about conquering that peak using the old Elder Scrolls mountain climbing skills

Nearly fell into the mountain

But kept on

And I finally made it to the top, the tree down below is the same one in one of my earlier pictures

However even my professional mountain climbing skills have limits and I couldn't make it to the highest peak

So me thinking I could save 5 minutes by going straight instead of around the mountain actually turned into a 30 minute exploration and climbing session and I still haven't made it to that quest marker.
