Because other then nightblade, no other class has a Charge Ability as a class skill that's stamina based.

which means you generally need a Charge Based Ability.

Snipe is pretty much the only way for Stamina builds to compete with Templar and their Flares. (Don't quote me) Other than that, it's widely known that 2H is the icing on a PvPers cake. Crit Rush and Wrecking Blow.

I personally can't stand using 2H. Way too clunky for me.

2h/bow is definitely fun, but I do wish I could switch it up because I like DW and 1h/S a lot. But sadly we are somewhat pidgeon-holed into 2h for PvP because it's the only way to get a pre-buff Major Brutality and targetless stamina burst heal.

There are lots of great ways to address the problem but ZOS combat devs don't have the imagination, talent, or will to make any meaningful changes. Saddle up guys, it's going to be Elder 2hShuffleBowtards Online for AT LEAST the next 6 months.

When you're done looking over all your characters, take note of how many of them are stamina based.

The stamina bias is getting to the point that the magicka bias was at launch. It's at least getting there.

I still have a mag DK, mag sorc, mag NB and hybrid DK, and prefer to play mag in PvP.

I prefer stam in PvE, because i run trials a lot, and less than 50% of the healers in random groups know what Elemental Drain and Siphon spirit are, so magicka is just not sustainable enough to my taste.

I know exactly what elemental drain and siphon spirit are. I don't run them because all my DPS are stamina.

Just because you are a special snowflake doesn't mean that stam atm has a ridiculous package of heal, burst, and damage avoidance.

Are you guys all talking about PvP? Cause I thought all the metas for PvE revolved around DW/Bow.

I've always preferred 2H personally. It's more fun and way more survivable. You can solo just about anything with rally+brawler. You could pull a hundred mobs and it'd just be god-mode for you with brawler.

I too use 2H/bow, because I just love the look of greatswords and bow is a good weapon for ranged attacks, I always shoot 2 dots from my bow then approaching and enemy (bombard, poison arrow) and then I crit rush to them and to brawler and then some wrecking blow and executioner, or dragon leap finish them aoe

I definitely agree that it's better than the Proxy Det days. I agree that players need to put some creativity in their builds. I do think that ZOS needs to give us some help with new weapons, new supers, new glyphs,and maybe even a new class or two.

A lot of people play whatever build fits the <easy to play : performance> meta, meaning most result from least skill/activity.
It is by definition what meta is

Although I'm not sure if 2H/Bow is meta at the moment or not, but something tells me it is. 2H have been dominating PvP for .. well, since release.

Deltia is one of the coolest guys in ESO. Idk whats the beef u have against him, but its very immature to simply call all his builds stupid.

That's why non NBs use it most of the time. Also Sorcs and DKs have no stamina 'main attack', so they have to rely on weapon abilities, and because DS provides both good damage and CC it's the ability of choice.

Well with there only being 4 options for weapons, there will be a lot of over lapping. Heck, there is only really 3 PvP options when dueling as DW is terrible 1v1.

As two why 2h and bow, it's because poison injection and dizzying swing. Deadly combos when you have the Maelstrom weapons.

Dual Wield is really strong with Maelstrom weapons though. Those Poison Injections hit way too hard and I don't think anyone can heal through that.

The meta will be followed by the many. I'm not even saying they're wrong or bad. I don't care.

But don't pretend like the majority want variety, they don't. They want what works and what makes them feel powerful, and that's the way of things.

Heck, I have builds that are optimal, because they work and I want to make sure that I get through content others call tough.

There is always going to be a combination of skills and gear that is best or easiest to win with. No matter all the diversity something will be best and players will run that setup

Its because both weapons have executes that scale at 50%. In my opinion all executes should be 25%.

We could buff dw/s+b but that doesnt solve anything. I dont understand why zos is against nerfs and adds to power creep.. which leads to the cryodill buff changing again...

Wish they'd pump up sword and board to two hander dmg for dps. balance wise if tanking dps will be a lil better but medium armor dps with it buffed would be a nice change.

Overall we just need new weapon types its getting stale..

One handed + javelin
Crossbows
Spears/pikes/halberd
One hand + magic

I rofl at all the the stam dominance exaggeration. Come 1v1 my magsorc, any of you circle jerkers, pugs bandwaggoners, I dare you.

And on the op's topic 2h and bow is just the most well rounded build,so it's the most common tho it doesnt excel at anything like shield or dw. It's fairly well balanced.
