So I bought this a long time ago got a character to 19 then just didnt play it for a very long time. Now I have been playing got a guy to champ 80 and had a question.

Dungeons that are part of DLC are they only accessible with DLC or can you get them doing a random dungeon in the group finder? And the New sets do they drop in other dungeons?

    Hi there!

    Welcome back!

The Random Dungeon finder will only put you in a group for the DLC dungeons if you have access to that DLC (either by buying it or subscribing to ESO+. Otherwise it will limit you to the other dungeons.

The sets that are exclusive to those dungeons will only drop in there.

Wouldnt the sets only dropping there be more PTW? And i mean this as a normal question. Will most likely get a sub but it seems a lil to much of an advantage. POE limits no one from content and they are making money out the ass. Seems odd to limit content and not make up for it in Cosmetics.

Buying the sets would be PTW. Buying expansions or subscribing to access content to have a chance at sets is MMORPG.

With the amount of sets you can obtain/craft/get crafted to you/buy and all the possible combinations i would not say it is pay to win. You can obtain better sets or combinations without these specific sets. But they are a nice addition to the variation.

    Have a nice day.

I dont agree with that at all. Limiting gear to people that has PVP is PTW for people that can get said gear. Really doesnt matter as I will get a Sub but very bad structure on ZOS's part

Yes they are def not best in slot for my class. Just seems bad business on their part. They need to adopt the POE system. best system out there. And i have paid them much money for cosmetics because they are so fair.

To me, pay 2 win is being able to buy something in the crownstore that gives you an instant advantage over another player. If they put Maelstrom weapons in the store, that would be pay to win. Selling new content with exclusive items that must be earned does not fit that IMO. This is how MMOs stay alive. They are a business afterall. If you are serious about playing, subscribe. It supports the game and makes this a non issue. If you dont subsrcribe, you have little grounds to complain.

Pay 2 Win has a lot of definitions. Some people argue that because time is limited, even time savers like riding lessons are Pay 2 Win. I think that is a bad definition however, otherwise, anything but a costume is Pay 2 Win. Play an actual P2W game and you will see the difference.

As long as they dont start selling maxed characters or put unique or hard to get set pieces in the crown store, I am all good.

Like I said they are not best in slot. But the limiting of Dungeons people can play with others is Bad. POE has all content open Cosmetics pay for everything and like I said they are raking in cash. When you limit where people can play I think it hurts your game more than helps. Just an opinion though, we all have them.

Except for the Breton Hero costume which is P2L.

I don't think you can really compare Path of Exile to ESO financially. POE's development cost was a couple million dollars (they were kickstarter funded), meanwhile ESO is a triple A title that is rumored to have cost $200 million to make.

I doubt the money POE brings in could sustain a game like this.

Comparing PoE to ESO is rather foolish.

Poe looks like diablo 2 made to be ran on a ps2. Financially speaking the cost to make and maintain poe is a drop in the bucket to eso.

1 games business model dosent apply to them all, thinking that is rather naive.

The dungeons or story content in dlc is exactly that, DLC. You pay to play, all games come out with new shiny for new content vs old not so shiny, old content.

I think if the sets were the absolute best in the game, maybe, but there is such a variety in game now, especially with the revamped trial gear and the Cyrodiil vendor selling monster helms/shoulders that there are many workable gear set-ups (both crafted and BoE) that you can make some awesome builds without ever setting foot in any DLC.

Well least its all new to me. I still think limiting people on where they can go is a bad business model. Especially dungeons where they would be grouping with friends. Like I said its an OP we all have them. And POE is an MMO just like this game. Graphics are less but content is def not.

POE is more of an online ARPG (action role playing game) like the Diablo games. MMORPGs are usually in first or third person view. The first two "M's" stand for "Massively Multiplayer" meaning hundreds or thousands of players online together at once. ARPGs are usually top down or isometric view and have a much smaller cap on how many players can be instanced together.

Anyway like a previous poster mentioned, they are different games with highly different costs to maintain. As far as MMOs go, ESO has a really generous business model. A lot of other triple A titles charge you to subscribe AND charge you for new content. In this game, you get the DLC and a bunch of other perks if you subscribe (subscription is totally worth it for the crafting bag).

Except for last weekend when they stuffed it up and put the PvE gear for AP and the PvP for gold...lol
