for 2 weeks now we are seeing 2 large patches and long server down times. since i am a programmer and a network IT, i was wondering are these long game interruptions fixing the issues such as farming losses, survey fixes for the clothier so people cant take your surveys, long load times, game glitches. seems to me that when all updates are in place and patches these issues are also not fixed. so i was wondering when we might see fixes to the issues that all of us gamers see

As a project manager for software developement and one who has built small business networks (only up to 20g bandwidth) is suggest reading the patch notes for the best idea of what is being done.
Maintenance isn't just about patches. Some of it is about reorganizing data and maybe physical equipment and more. Of course today there is a patch included.

I think they just take it down, run to the store, grab new AA batteries and install them, so it stays running another week.
