Platform Icons?

Today I bought ESO on PC, I already own it on PS4. If everything works OK I may consider moving over to the 1337 side

However, I'd like to see which pals of mine here are on PC so I can stalk add them.

I know you can click on people's account name and see if they've said which platform they're on but that would mean me literally clicking on everyone

So, what if the forum just had a teeny, tiny icon at the top right of each post that said what they game on? Signatures are great but not everyone uses them for this info

On the topic though, I don't think it's a good idea, considering how heated some topics get and some devolve into console vs PC wars, adding icons would just encourage more abuse and finger-pointing.
"Oh he's just a Console noon, knows nothing" "Nah, you're a PC elitist jerk, PC is dying" and so on..
Currently that info displayed is optional and can be hidden - people do need to retain the right to keep that part of their profile anonymous.

That's a good point. I hadn't considered that

I totally agree that it should always be optional what info you show!

Why dont you ask your pals if they own the game on pc instead? xD... Much easier before ZOS will even add such a feature.

On the other side of this, I remember a thread from last week where someone was continually posting erroneous information. We were all talking about a change with Hist, and they were on PS4, insisting that, "no, really, the water's fine," oblivious to the fact that the mechanic we were talking about had actually been changed when the DLC dropped.

Ah yes. I know the thread you're speaking of. Fortunately they had PS4 in their signature but optional icons may have saved a lot of time

Believe it or not we're still installing (12 hours so far!). I'm slightly worried my PC won't run it, which is why we bought the game now as it was on sale. If it does though then I can hook up my controller and start playing by Friday

Hmm, forgot to address the original question..Ooops!

Since ZOS pools us all together into the same forum, I don't see why having some kind of an identification as to which platform you call home would be such a bad thing. Might just cut down on some of the confusion as to what a certain player is talking about based on their platform.

I've logged enough hours on these forums to realize that when you get right down to it, people will still post their opinions even when they are totally missing the point due to what platform they are playing on. People are people after all, but for those who actually pay attention to what they are responding to...well a simple tag showing what platform wouldn't exactly be a bad thing.

Bottom line is...Who cares what platform you play ESO on!

It only matters that you have found a place to have fun with your gaming time. At least we can agree on that!

Besides the chance to talk about ESO with others who also enjoy the game, and also give feedback to ZOS about things we are passionate about to improve this game...

Why the heck do some people feel the need to put down other platforms?

I for one couldn't care less if you are playing ESO on a stone tablet...as long as you are respectful to others views...then I want to hear your input!

However...if you are really still playing on a stone tablet...for goodness sake you can do MUCH better! But as OP has suggested, at least we'd know where you are coming from.

And yes stone tablets DO come in both PC/MAC and Console versions.

Just one Knucklehead's opinion though

You may want to get the fish fillet add-on and advanced inventory for starters. Possibly an add-on for quick gear/weapon swap too. Just sayin' haha.

PS. I love all platforms equally. Also, I have a feeling they couldn't find a good way to implement it since they did add it to our profile but not to the post areas.

Yeah, uh, I'm not uh, the guildmaster or anything.

Also if you're using controller - BetterUI is pretty nifty, as well there's an addon that changes all the Xbox button images to Playstation ones instead (if you're using your PS4 controller).

Oh, and I forgot to mention last time. If someone got ESO to play on a stone tablet, they would undeniably be better than everyone currently here. lol

Alas, my "stone tablet" only supports DX9

No more collecting hireling mails at work on my old laptop 4 me...but at least I still got the forums and my bucket of popcorn. Tis better to sneak some forum goodness...than work any day! At least until the boss catches me

Having an icon under our names would be a good change I think, it would also help a lot with discussions where some details are different based on platform, and as such opinions often vary based on platform, letting us readily see who is on what would help us gauge people's comments accordingly.
