how to activate Rufous Mudcrab

a few hours ago i got a free code on twitter to get a Rufous Mudcrab. since then i've been searching for a way to activate that pet. first i tried at https://account.elderscrollsonline.com but i always got an "invalid code" message. i rechecked the code many times and i got it correct. so, after that i launched the game and searched for another way to activate the code, but now i'm out of ideas. anyone knows how to activate a pet code?

nobody needs, but they also shouldn't need to do a promo this way. at least they could have a code for one day of use or something like that, instead of a single-use code - that's just pathetic.

Actually there is more than one in Tamriel... The mudcrab plush on the Bethesda store used to have an in-game pet code with it which, when redeemed, awarded the Rufous Mudcrab. There were also players that were accidentally given the pet when the game was launched, depending on where they bought their copy of the game from.
