Or are DLC's high level content that should be bought later?

DLCs scale down to level 10, so you can do them whenever you like. However, when you subscribe you get the crafting bag which is basically the best thing ever to grace the world of Nirn.

I would save the dlcs for when you're level 50 cause otherwise your level will be way higher than the zone you're in.. But I think that should be fixed with the next update anyway

Wrothgar is one I would wait on, as it is an excellent place to earn experience end game. The other DLC's may help you if your of a criminal bend, but the built in Legerdemain skills in the base game help with that activity.

Don't forget to buy you Imperial Horse for 1 gold and start upgrading its speed right away. Or bags if you don't subscribe and get the Crafting Bag
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Some of the perks:

    -Increased Experience
    -Increased Gold
-Increased Inspiration (for trait research, something you might want to start working on asap if you're into crafting)
-crafting bags, which will prevent you from having to make more visits to town when grinding
-DLC access, which has some of the best grinding spots in the game (IC and Wrothgar, I'm looking at you.)

DLC's content scales to your level, though if you're REALLY low-level I hear it's still a little hard. I think subbing is probably worth it to do right away, but I'd be careful. The DLC content can be done at any level because it scales, so there's no incentive to do it right away unless you're really into a specific guild or storyline. If you DO end up doing some DLC first, you'll be quite overleveled when you go back to the regular zones. So if you're like most people and decide to do the main quest lines first, you're going to be missing out on half the reason to sub (perpetual access to DLC zones). On the other hand, the other stuff available with ESO+, like crafting bags and costume dyes and all that, is absolutely fabulous and for some people will make up for not doing the DLC content right away.

Long story short, it's up to you, just know what you're gaining and leaving behind if you do or don't sub right away.
