Please, let us build them, like in Skyrim's Heartfires but with a more comprehensive and expanded way.

Of course, pre-made kits are necessary to make it viable, but not restrict our choices to basically one model structure to maximize space (all of the other formats were too tiny)

I miss my Lakeview Manor so much...

That's not going to happen, on PC a lot of the houses are now already in place (although currently inaccessible) and they aren't blank plots of land, they are already buildings.

Just letting you know because I don't want you to be holding out for something that isn't going to happen.

No Imperial housing? ZOS plz D:

I highly expect there will be player housing in the various DLC zones as well. So a house on the Gold Coast is probably your best bet.

There's also the rumoured/datamined Colovian Estates DLC, which would likely cover the areas around Skingrad. If the city is anything like in Oblivion it will certainly be a stunning place to live.

I'm personally saving my crowns for a house in Abah's Landing, the interior architecture for that city is beautiful.

I agree, costume dyeing is amazing, but that variety is mostly for ESO+ players. If the non ESO+ players want to dye their costume/hat they would have to buy pre-selected packs which destroyes the variety a bit. When housing comes and ESO+ players get to customize their house how they want and non ESO+ players have to select from pre selected house layouts, I honestly wouldn't be suprised.

I think you can count on some sort of mechanic that makes it much easier for eso+ members. It is a trend i dont see stopping. It seems they want money they can count on every month. And seem to be making a pretty good push to get people to sub.

Speaking of which, has anyone found the new buildings ZOS added in preparation for player housing yesterday? I was too busy with the new dungeons/Town capture to check.
@Lord_Draevan Yes. There was a PTS thread about it, and I contacted ZOS to see if that list was exhaustive (it was). I went and screenshotted all of them, which you can see here:
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Player_Housing
No Imperial housing? ZOS plz D:
That list is exhaustive of the changes from Update 11. There will most likely be more houses added in Update 12, and probably more still when Player Housing is released. Datamining has suggested there will be three houses in each racial architectural style, which is 30 houses in total, and there's only 13 here, so that's at least 17 more that need to be implemented. (Of course everything that is datamined is subject to change.) I have found myself something in the data called "HousingColovianSmall", so that would be your Imperial housing. No idea on where that may be located, however.

that smells like Skingrad coming in a future update, in the Colovian highlands it would be perfect.

Those will be instanced anyway - you go into the same house than someone else, but you end up in your house and the other in his/her house, even it is in the same spot in the world. Just like it is with that house, where you emerged after the introduction in coldharbor. If you go back to that house and enter it, you will always be in an own instance and alone there, regardless how many others are entering it.

Well, what about servants - a manor requires a lot of staff to keep it clean, run it and a major domo to rule over the servants.

Edit. Just reminds me of a study about Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice" which was about if Mr. Darcy would be able to run a state house like in the novel nowadays and what this would possibly cost - turned out, he would have a problem, due to the costs of servants and other staff, which are nowadays much more expensive than in the 19th century - the estate itself would not even be the biggest cost factor.

This is an article about this study http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/11063670/Could-Mr-Darcy-afford-a-stately-home-today.html

I dunno. There's some interesting features for when you haven't completed a quest and someone else in your group has. They just randomly go invisible without warning and I'm wondering why they're taking a whole bunch of damage. Then I remember, "Ooooh yeah. Uuuh. You'll be running into mobs on the way there." Though I do have to agree, even with that I'm not holding my hopes up for the outside to have all that much customization. I doubt we'll even get planters. =/

Once One Tamriel will be out, I will go on sightseeing tour and get an impression about what all the many zones are like - so far I know just about 9 of them (not counting DLC areas) and I bet ZOS has made incredible other landscapes which will leave me in awe when I'll be getting there. This part of art work they do is always amazing and worth to be praised and so is the sound design and sound detail in the open wild - this is what I enjoy so much and One Tamriel will allow me to finally see it.

So it is hard to say now, where I will want to live at - I have first to get an impression about what is there.

They are obviously trying to give additional incentives to subscribe. A person could subscribe for one month, then dye all of your character's costumes before the subscription runs out.

If someone is unable or unwilling to subscribe, they won't have access to certain things. Similarly a non-subscriber who is unable or unwilling to buy DLC or other crown items won't have access to them.

Given that all of the houses added so far have a wall around them, I would hope that a customisable garden is part of the instance (otherwise there's no point in the wall existing at all). While you can see the garden through some of the walls/gates, they will probably just ignore that discrepancy or try to cover the gaps.

I'm keen to hear more details but not getting my hopes up. Given how exorbitantly some things have been priced in the crown store I'm choosing not to get excited about this feature until I know everything about how it works, including pricing.
am i the only one that doesnt care about player housing ? or even see the benefit of it other than appearance ?

It's like a lot of things in gaming - people enjoy them because they can't do it in real life. Not everyone can afford to buy or build their dream house and then decorate it. But some games offer the opportunity and that's kind of nice.

Housing has been a much loved feature of the single player TES games. I'm surprised it wasn't included at launch.
