The newest patch has just released (v2.5.5)! Yay
Ruins of Mazzatun and Cradle of Shadows have finally been released to the players. These are the first new dungeons to get added to ESO in ~1 year.
But there's a problem. Only a few hours have passed and the nerf hammer has already been called because the Veteran versions of these dungeons are too difficult. This is problematic, as it sparks the same heated discussion (no nerf vs nerf) as it always does.
So here's the proposition:
Add a third tier of difficulty - Nightmare - so nerfs don't allow all dungeons to become faceroll easy to players that actually coordinate a bit -_-
DifficultiesNormal:
• CP150 gear drops (same as before)
Veteran:
• CP160 gear drops (same as before)
Nightmare:
• CP160 gear drops
• Monster Helms drop slightly more often and at have a 50% hance to drop at Legendary quality
• Final boss drops a bonus Bind on Pickup Gold jewelry piece of one of the dungeon's sets
• A few new achievements, maybe a title/costume for beating all dungeons on Nightmare
• Counts as no different than a Veteran completion to Undaunted Pledges, so it serves as a "greater difficulty for greater rewards" version of Veteran
This allows the current Veteran version to stay nerfed to PUG-style difficulty, but give players who are actually good the opportunity to play difficult 4-man content for fun!
- Normal Mode remains super easy.
- Veteran Mode becomes mildy challenging but still plenty easy to beat everytime with a random group via griup finder for Veteran Pledges.
- Nightmare becomes the actual challenging difficulty so everyone is happy!
