As of now i believe most people are doing Maelstrom Arena only for Maelstrom weapons because the sets simply lack in effect when being compared to others.
Most of the sets in the (in my opinion) hardest dungeon in the game are simply underpowered to have a nice effect for a viable end game.
I will post some ideas in the following lines. Feel free to comment them and post your own suggestions. It is supposed to be a discussion!
WINTERBORN
The chance is too low in my opinion with only 8 percent chance of triggering and ONLY when ice damage is dealt.
Also the area of the ice pillar is too low and the duration with 2 seconds minuscule.
Right now it does (according to fextralife) 7967 cold damage over two seconds duration.
That would mean 3984 cold damage per second.
My suggestion:
- Increase chance from 8 percent to 10 percent.
- Increase the cold pillars area by 50 percent.
- Increase the cold pillars duration by 1 second and (by doing so) the total damage to 11950 over three seconds.
HUNT LEADER
The fifth ability simply sucks since pets are required, also this minuscule stamina/health regeneration has a cooldown of 5 seconds.
My suggestion
- Increase the stamina regeneration by 50%
- Increase the health regeneration by 33%
- Enables the regeneration effect too, when a group member OR a pet damages an enemy you've had attacked before.
PARABELLUM
Remaining undamaged for 10 whole seconds is pretty undoable in high-difficulty plays.
Since Parabellum seems to be build for damage-shield-tanks i'd chance the effect a little to make it more benefit.
My suggestion
- Decrease the cooldown after which the damage shield is set up to 6-7 seconds.
- Add this effect to the (5) effect : "Receiving a damage shield from another source besides Parabellums effect, take no damage for 0,5 to 1 second."
GLORIOUS DEFENDER and
PERMAFROST
I honestly have no idea how to make original reworks to make those two sets work better.
