Velidreth set bonuses.

So with today's update to live servers did Velidreth go live with strictly 129 weapon damage? Would be unfortunate if it was strictly a stamina set.

Also how is it in PvP? Under/Over performing or just right?

Sounds like it can be very deadly if procced from a gap closer or dizzying swing.

It is not really good as a single-target DPS option. The damage from one single unit is hardly much. On the other hand, it is really strong for multi-target DPS, and blowing up zergs is PvP.

It's a new monster set from Shadows of the Hist DLC.

Don't assume incorrect usage based off of your own ignorance, please.

Correct, though perhaps a little more aggressively said that I would go with...

There doesn't seem to be any indication ZOS intends for Velidreth set to be used by anyone other than a Stamina DPS though, I can't see it being any good on a magicka build.

Wasn't it the Molag Kena set which was buffed to give an additional + weapon damage some time past the initial release?

Funny how ZoS can't remember their own game play decisions.

It is only a stamina set, it was never intended to be neutral like Molag Kena.

The set is extremely nice in PvE, for PvP it could be quite deadly as well, also it triggers from all damage, so you can trigger it at range with a bow and still hit a target with the spore about 30m away or so, before it despawns. If you wear Viper's Sting the spores will also proc that, meaning you can trigger a spore from afar with a bow, then the spore lands, does its damage plus Viper's Sting, quite deadly I would assume.

I can confirm that Velidreth does not proc Viper's Sting. On the other hand, Viper's Sting can proc Velidreth

I remember Alcast was testing this set on the PTS and it was pretty bad. >:)

    Dunno about PvP tho.

While interesting I would think that hitting particular targets from range with this would be near impossible. I'm not sure how true this is but from what I've seen the animation seems rather obvious and the spores move incredibly slowly.

This will only serve to increase the stamina melee burst which is already ridiculously high. Obviously it wont always proc but a DK could very easily run 5 viper, 5 eternal hunt, and 2 Velidreth.

Then lay rearming trap, dodge roll over rearming trap, grip into rearming trap, and set off the trap, the eternal hunt set, the viper set, leap or DboS and 1 in 5 times a huge velidreth hit.

Before CP and mitigation are factored, Eternal hunt 8125, Viper 8311, Velidreth 10320, that is 28k instant damage without considering ultimate or trap damage, or roughly 14k accounting for battle spirit alone. Add in DboS(undodgeable) for another 12k(6k pvp) instant in and around 13k(6k pvp) over 5 seconds. Plus 10k-12k(5-6k pvp) over 10s for trap, then account for initially putting Poison Injection before pulling.

This set allows for more virtual one shots if procced. Personally I think while interesting that the burst capabilites of the damage are way to high.

    That argument makes no sense.

Kena´s 2pc bonus always buffed weapon+spell damage so it made no sense to only give spell damage on 1pc.

In Pts and after imperial city dlc released, kena was strictly weapon damage on the first piece set item. It was in a later patch that they made it weapon and spell damage. I was hoping that the same would be done for this set, but alas time will tell.

Also the two piece doesn't necessarily have to be run, many people run 2 different monster set items. Using Kena and Velidreth gives you the option for more weapon damage, an option that isn't available for Magicka builds, just like there is no 1 piece Magicka recovery but there is a 1 pc stamina recovery. Just think it should get the Kena treatment to give Magicka builds the option as well.

It's good in PvP. Better for solo/small group players since each player can only get hit by one disease orb! :)

It definitely did on the PTS, haven't seen any mention of it being changed.
