I know there are Race Changes and Name Changes Coming. On August 16 I think. But will there be a class changes in the future? I have this AD DK you see. But a bad class I'm afraid. She is A DK Wood Elf. I spent 500k on different types of armor and weapon sets, respec my skills. But I'm unable to tank. Unable to do damage. I used 2 hand, sword and shield and bow. I get destroyed easily. I also tried both magicka and stamina.

I love how my AD DK Wood Elf looks. I don't want to change her features. I also not want to change her name for sure. (Princess Of Dreams) Sadly. There is good chance I'm forced to be a ganker. But I actually want to stay in fights. Close combat. But if there was a class change someday. I be glad that my AD Wood Elf DK will be a Nightblade for sure. Since the archery passives.

In honestly my main reason I went to become Wood Elf was because I read these series of books by Bernard Cornwell. The Grail Quest Series. While the main character of the story. Was an Archer from the Fedual Period? (Queen and Kings era) I fell in love with this Main character in the triology.

So much so. Became happy, became sad. (Really good Series) That I decided that I want to become an archer DK and since Wood Elves are archer based. I thought being a dk archer was a good start at the time. But now I reliezed I should've been a nightblade instead.

No class changes, which is really a very smart move on their part.

I believe only thing they have said is "Not at the moment". They are not planning to add it but they haven't denied the possibility that it was possible some day in the distant future. I am also waiting for class change to appear. My Breton sorcerer healer wants to stop the daedra worship and become a templar

No they have denied it, and did so on an ESO Live AUA segment.

    Oh...I have probably missed something....
Okay, I just wait then. I can be patient. Just like the Elves in the Coldharbour  Did they give any reason why to not include it?

Honestly the reason why FFXI/XIV is so successful is because of the ability to freely change classes. Not being able to change classes is an archaic RPG system that serves little purpose other than to promote alternate characters. While there are certainly coding issues with changing a character's class, it would help to promote better class balance if major shifts occur as this would be an indicator of an issue with the current meta.

Final Fantasy also has WAY more classes to choose from, and class change has been a thing in any FF title with a Job System. Can you say the same for The Elder Scrolls? No really can you because I never played 1-4 so I wouldn't know lol

hmm... But when they hold the ESO live 6/24 I remember them saying that class change is not in their to do list at the moment and they say nothing wether or not it is coming in the future. I dug it up for you:

00:55:08 - 00:55:21 "We have nothing to announce there". So I understand that as neither yes or no.

Class change would be a huge mistake though. I would honestly contemplate quitting if they changed their stance on not doing it. If they were to cave on that what's to stop them from caving on so much worse?

No, classes and levels are both archaic game design.

It's particularly baffling considering how ESO handles pretty much everything else. Why not just let everyone have access to every skill line, and then build their character around that? As long as the skills are kept diverse and interesting, so that mulitudes of different builds were all equally viable, there'd... well, there'd be little different. Other than people being able to create the character they want to play, rather than be limited simply for the sake of "that's the way Gygax did it!"

Hell, they even still effectively adhere to the race/class limitations that even D&D (finally) moved away from. Yes, you can be any race or any class, but the way they have racial abilities set up, they *clearly* benefit certain classes and builds far more than they do others, and not in an insignificant way. All other things being equal, a Redguard magicka sorcerer is at a distinct disadvantage to an Altmer magicka sorcerer.

Dude, I don't know what version of D&D you play, but in 5e, there are classes levels, and a direct benefit from certain races over others. D&D has had Classes and Levels since it's inception. There are literally no versions of it where they were removed. I know, I own them all (save fourth, since a day after I bought them I returned them for a full refund).

Maybe not at all, but if they change their minds it wont be soon :( ...I would suggest you try different builds OP, many times you can make it work, with proper armor, jewelry and well distributed CP points! I cant help you much here because I suck at being good in this game even with the most generic build.
I know being a NB is cool, I love being one, but if you love her so much, maybe try recreating her as well as you can!

Why would class change be such a big mistake? Only bad thing I can think of it is that people would be able to switch to the "Flavor of the month" immediately, but on the other hand lvling new character takes about 5 days so they will get to Cyrodiil quite quickly anyways. They just haven't completed the story and collected all skyshards yet.

On the other hand I can see it doing much good. Many people regret their early class choice as it is not suited to the play style they like (like me or the starter of this thread) but we are too attached to our otherwise perfect characters to start a new one. People who get bored to their current class could try something new without losing all their progress (and Zeni would make money ($__$) ) This would also make the introduction of new classes easier as people would not need to ditch the old character they loved so much to play the new class. WoW is currently giving character lvl boosters with the expansions and new classes start at very high lvls becouse people are tired of grinding.

In my opinion the classes are unnecessary hindrance in this game as you can already gear yourself with what ever you like no matter which class you are. They could as well just be another skill lines that you can learn from somewhere.
