I am in favour pretty much as it seems to make crafting more complete. The trouble is that in order to support it, this will mean probably new raw materials like gold and silver and perhaps jewels (unless recycling the weapon / armour trait ones). This could mean having yet another resource node to find (or worse the loss of some existing ones to replace with jewelry ore specific ones). The same metal types could be used but metals suitable for making armour and weapons are not the same as jewelry. Gold is good for jewelry but useless for armour and weapons because it is soft. I suppose gold could be gained from melting down gold coins rather than needing to mine it. I don't know if destroying currency is considered a crime. I would assume it could live under metalwork skill.

Would it be simpler to be able to buy un-enchanted jewelry to enchant with a trait?

Or just allow upgrading them at least? Would only require code and not new materials to get them from purple to gold etc?

I am for Jewelry crafting with these guidelines:
    1. Falls under "Blacksmithing"
    2. Requires a totally new ore, that increases in amount from lvl 1-CP160.
    3. Utilizes new trait gems
    4. Utilizes new Tempers.

I say let's have jewelry as it own craft with its own nodes "precious metals" thus introducing a new craft for everyone to work on. Could add or use existing mining nodes.

This post has been made multiple times by multiple people - but I agree. I'd love to be able to upgrade my jewelry rather than hope for RNG to drop it at the rating I want it to drop.

I think the fact that there are things like rubies and emeralds etc already, I don't see much point adding them again separately for jewellery. I think the issue remains with metals suitable for jewellery but not armour. It is possible to have something like an iron ring (I don't know if it would be desirable. A cheap metal might work on its own or with an equally cheap stone). The problem is that if existing metals are used it is hard to say where gold should fit in. Is quicksilver really a silver that could be used for silver jewellery? How about metals like platinum? Blends like rose gold or white gold, brass and bronze? Blending from bases could reduce ore types required and recycling some existing ones. Copper is presently an improvement material. Would it need to be available in ore form? So many possibilities.

At this point, I would be happy to just be able to deconstruct or improve existing jewelry.

You can melt down armor, weapons, clothes, and even refine ore - but you can't melt down a ring? Do we need to travel to Mordor to get the job done?
