stamina templar tanking?

Do i need to be wearing heavy armor for tanking, since my character is stamina based wearing medium armor. Will wearing medium suffice for silver and gold dungeons? Of course i will be using one hand shield

You need 5 piece heavy. You need your passives. Go 2 medium and get those first three passives as well..

i recently met someone who tanked in 7 medium, they were OK in normal dungeons, but they spammed vigour constantly to stay alive....

this is not to say it couldnt be done. but i imagine you would be making the job harder for yourself than it needs to be when it comes to vet dungeons,

Well yah if you have 501cp a shield and sword might be just fine. Mostly because you can burn everything before it kills your friends.

You need enough armour to be as close to 33k armour and spell resist as you can whatever set and armour type you use. If you can keep rune up 100% then take that buff into account when determining whether you can or not. I know some people can get the 33k in medium armour master with an armour skill up 100% of the time.

So possible to run in medium as a tank but as a stam tank unless you have bone shield up 100% to add to your protection it may be hard to get the level of resist that you will need without at least 5 piece heavy or running armour master as per above. The Temp shield is a little too magicka expensive for me to use as an ongoing defence on my Stampler I tend to only use it for additional damage with trash pulls.
