What would you recommend for a decent headset for Xbox One?

Astro A40s are great, but turtle beach makes a budget friendlier headset

Any thing Bose (might be out of your budget though) or Skull Candy.

I had a wired headset, but that bugged me. I went with a Logitech Blue Tooth one and that seems to be just fine for me. At least I can go to the fridge and get a beverage while talking to guild mates.

I would recommend if you can to try them on, some Headsets will feel just fine on your head, some will give you a headache after 10 minutes or be so loose that they fall off your head. Of course it also helps to listen to them first too, if you can.
