Daedra race

Was wondering why can't ZOS introduce daedra as a playable race in any es game? I mean you can be an imperial that has gone rogue. Why can't there be daedra that did the same thing?

Because deadras were never a playable race and its also lorebreaking

because daedra can walk around normal civilisation and do quests to help the locals lol

Because Zenimax is only in charge of TESO, not the entire series. It's Bethesda you want to take this up with.

Yes people occasionally make threads asking for being able to play as Daedra or Dwemer or whatnot but it's just never gonna happen because lore.

Daedra is the general term for all the creatures of Oblivion. I'm sure what you really meant is the Dremora, and they naturally have absolutely no inclination to involve themselves with the Mortals of Nirn. Their basic desire is to serve a Daedric Prince to ensure the survival of their Clan and Kyn.

Uh few reasons why it's a no

1 never play as daedra before
2 it makes no sense daedra the enemies of all mortals to help the mortals
3 how it even be added ?

If we were to see any "race" addition, I would love more were races.. Tamriel has tons of them, yet we have only one in the game

Would of been cool to have the player choose to play as the races of Tamriel or the Dremora then have that be the war in Cyrodiil.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend type of deal.. no factions just a good vs evil struggle.

Kind of like a whole different game though.

Personally, I'd liked to play a Nymph rather than a daedra anyway. They seemed like a fun race to play.

Breaks the lore. When a daedra dies in our plane he's banished into oblivion and cannot return for some time.

Being soul shriven isn't the same as being a Daedra. That said, it does confer some abilities usually associated with the denizens of Oblivion. For instance, you cannot be permanently destroyed, unlike the mortals of Tamriel.

Honestly, adding new races to the game is kinda a non-start. You might be able to justify something like a Falmer or Khajiit breeds like the Ohmes. That said, the high frequency requests (playable daedra, and dwemer) are not happening, because of the lore. There's one surviving Dwemer, who is accounted for in the games. The Daedra don't have the autonomy to make a good option for playable characters. Maybe as some kind of PvP monster mode, but not for general gameplay.

Rather they necro a snow elf or two and give us a frost mage / race. Really want that frost aoe that ads chuck on the ground for some reason.

Wild Elves would be another legitimate option. We know they exist, but are just vanishingly rare. The problem with most of these, "I want to be special" race requests is that races really need to be available to everyone, and this isn't a single player game, so you're going to have a lot of this incredibly rare race running around. Also, in cases like the Wild Elves and Falmer, it would be pretty hard to justify a hoard of them suddenly deciding to adventure across Tamriel.

It'd be easier to justify the Maomer... but even then...

A Dremora skin would be a better option here I think.

See, the Xivkyn Polymorphs force the armor with them, as they are a whole body polymorph.

It might be a better Idea to have a Dremora skin that can be used with your current armor or outfit.

Daedra aren't available as a player race because Akatosh made a covenant with St. Alessia to keep the Daedra out of Nirn. Thus in most of the ES games there are powerful protections in place SPECIFICALLY to keep them out, and mages who conjure them need to pierce that protection to get their Daedra.

There also may or may not currently be some agreement with Sotha Sil in effect which keeps them from showing up in hordes during the time of ESO, this presumably being why ONLY Molag Bal showed up when Varen broke everything.

Ergo, no playable Daedra.

It has been asked before. Many times. Just like the "can we haz dragons, lol" threads, every now and then someone pops up thinking it would be "cool" to play daedra, or dwemer for that matter, and ignoring the whole lore that makes this an iffy request. Like the dremora and other humanoid daedra in effect being "demons" in the TES lore, who would be killed on sight by every guard, who would send vendors and quest givers running away screaming in fear instead of interacting, who would have mages and fighter guilders after you at every corner, who would never fit into the storyline as it is now.

There are many races that could possibly added to the crown store as purchasables, just like imperials... Maormer, Goblins, Imga, Reachmen, Akaviri races (snake-ish Tsaesci, monkey-people Tang Mo, tiger-khajiitish Ka Po'tun...), possibly even a few leftover Kothringi or Lilmothiit...

Ask for the likely ones, not the iffy ones!

Dremora -as a general rule- wish to kill mortal beings. It would break lore to have any play a heroic role in the history of Tamriel especially because of the protective wards placed by Akatosh, which by the time of the events of the Imperial City have been mostly restored (though the Dragon Fires are not lit, the soul burst has been mended as of the Imperial City's closure).

I'd rather be Tang Mo than Daedra. Especially if I can play a monk wielding a Bo Stave or Cestus. But some dark side choices when questing would be cool.

The only issue I can see is that there would have to be some story, maybe you get access to this race as Meridia gives you a deadric guard? Maybe you were banished by a god and now serve only yourself? Maybe you saw Menimarco as an unfit master and went against him and ended up as a slave? There has to be some reasoning and lore can be maintained.
