Because it is currently assigned to the specific character. That's why. Your reasoning is based off greed not logic.

I wanted this for so long ... so I could pool all my 12 characters (*cough* alt-a-holic *cough*) AP into a single character to buy Akaviri motifs... but now nearly all my characters have around 100k AP. Just earn more AP & enjoy! :D

Technically it's not a currency per se. There's Gold, there's Tel Var Stones, and then there's Alliance Points.

Only way you'd be able to bank it is if the bank kept point cards of everyone lol

There are vendors who's medium of exchange is Alliance Points, how exactly is it not a currency?

    It's more credit than currency.
@UltimaJoe777 I know you are trying to be funny, except if you go in your inventory and go to the currency tab. AP is found there.

Who says I'm trying to be funny? I speak the truth. Points are not physical objects you can trade in.
    @UltimaJoe777
ZOS them selves label it a currency. Bit coins arent physical objects And yet there they are a currency.

It's a different kind of currency though. It's credits that cannot be physically stored like coins or stones.

And different kind of currency. Yet still a currency.

Doesn't mean it can be stored though.

I have more then none. It can be stored.

    That argument makes no sense.

If it could not be stored I could not keep any. I would always be out. But since i have some they have to be stored somewhere.

On a side note since i know you are all about being being postive and worry a lot about how people are so negative on the forum all the time. It is much more postive to say, I'm not sure what you mean. Then the much more negative sounding, You make no sense. Since like i said, i know you are really worried about stuff like that.

Negativity and debating are not the same lol nothing wrong with a healthy debate provided it doesn't resort to personal attacks, which this has not yet. That said think of it this way: When you serve long enough you obtain credibility. This credibility allows you to receive rewards which can even be of your own choosing. That is the type of thing AP is. Yes, it can be considered a TYPE of currency but it's still not PHYSICAL currency and thus cannot be stored.

All this talk about whether or not it is a currency...

Does banking AP negatively effect anybody? Not that I can see.

Does banking AP positively effect anybody? Looks like it.

Seems like an obvious decision to me.

You can bank all of the things you buy with AP, right? Whether one character buys gear with 10,000 AP and transfers that gear to another character through the bank, or whether the one character banks 10,000 AP so the other character can buy the gear directly, the end result is the same; one character has lost 10,000 AP and the other has gained gear. In which case, I would agree with that statement.

No (hence why your AP Progression doesn't go down), but you have to earn more before you can get something else. If you want two items, you have to earn enough credibility for two items.

Think of it as cashing in favors... AP is the credibility of the favors you want to cash in. Basically you do stuff for your faction so they owe you a favor.
