Talking about CP, the grind is too real for us casuals.. and even hardcore players are stating its a loooong phase to even reach a certain CP to compete in PvP..

Play regularly and have your primary set as training all. You would catchup dann quick.

How casual are you? My brother plays like 1-2 hours 5 times a week for like 4 months he's cp 300. Japanese players just joined and I see ones who are 350-400.

The catch up mechanic is built in to the CP system already. When you hit lvl you will get your first 50 CP's within, I think, about 30 minutes. Then you will slam through the rest as you do Silver and Gold and be at 300+ CP's before you know it.

250 CP's is effective in pvp if you know how to play your class but there is also a No CP Campaign if you are worried.

Just play the game and don't even pay attention to CP's once you hit 160, which is gear/world cap... For now.

ESO already has a catchup system for CP. Between the scaled cost of CP and enlightenment it helps newer and returning players catch up.

Although I agree that more needs to be done. My biggest concern when the CP system was launched was the more casual and newer player. As it turns out Zos realized their mistake and made some adjustments to where it is now and hopefully they come to understand more needs to be done.

One suggesting a friend had was at lower CP levels provide several times the enlightenment. Once the player reaches a certain level scale that enlightenment back a little. When the player gets to maybe 75% of cap the enlightenment boost would be normal, as it is now.

This would go a long way for catching up players that actually play reasonably regularly without making any major change to the system. I know many who left due to the changes over a year ago. Some have come back buy many did not stay because of how far they were behind in CP.

Is end game 501? That's ridiculous. You know they are struggling to release end game content when it takes 550 levels to get there

Endgame is 160 CP at the current time. You will not find any enemies beyond that level. The CP limit right now is 501, with a 30-point or so increase coming with the next DLC.

Oh so Im not too far then. It almost seems like it's something that shouldn't be shown to other players then? Without an add-on or something at least. Like a persons item level in WoW. It seems like it would cause more prejudice than even item levels did.

That's interesting like. I wondered why I couldn't search for higher. Guess it's obvious now

So end game gear isn't tier based at all?

I cannot honestly say if the meta has divided sets into tiers or not, but I doubt it. Personally though I prefer a no-tier system.

Hm see this is where I get confused. On wow tier levels were the same physical level so their would be tier 1 cp 160 and tier 10 160 stuff. But that's just my prejudice from being experienced in other games.

How do they work then is T1-5 dungeon gear 6-7 veteran dungeons and T8-10 is trial stuff?

I like it simply because I understand it from previous games(personally I found it a tad annoying how a few months into a content patch there would be hardcore people doing far better than I. But I also had respect for them. First people doing the things I failed at doing lol) my group was always the people following a guide, not the ones who set the standards for the raids etc

Second question(sorry to the OP) are trials similar in difficulty to raids in world of warcraft? I'm not sure about these days but when I played every new content patch had awesomely difficult fights, obviously getting easier when they've been out for a while.

Ohh man I'm feeling nostalgic now but I remember final bosses for the expansions and how for so long only like 1% of each server had completed the final boss. It was awesome seeing the guys beat you in PvP knowing they deserved to beat you lol

I believe alot of players do not need to be a certain CP lvl to compete thought (I know I certainly didn't)
It certainly helps but it shouldn't hold you back.

Yeah but to be fair it's confusing to casuals that 160 is basically end game and not 501. Was at least confusing for me. It's because it levels up the exact same as normal levels; it feels like a standard levelling process but really it's just like extra percentages and a few unique effects. I at one point thought there was legendary 501cp weapons around lol

With only an ESO+ membership and 662CP (so way past cap and 900k XP per CP), if I do a Wrothgar daily delve, a heist, a sacrament and a gold daily dungeon while enlightened I get almost 500k XP. If I added in Wrothgar world bosses it'd likely come close to a whole CP at my level.

All of these would likely take 1-2 hours depending upon circumstances but I would imagine that at 300 CP that 8-900k XP would equate to 3-4CP just in one day doing repeatable quests. Add in the XP potions and the repeatable assassinations and tips board quests and you can easily catch up unless you're super casual, and then you shouldn't expect to catch up with those who put in more time and effort. It's the natural payoff

No need for a "catch-up" system. As stated above there´s already one. And to be honest: If you want to reach the CP cap you have to grind for it (how you do it is up to you). Grinding is a part of the MMO-genre (not sure about the spelling here ^^) so deal with it.

It helps to play less. Then you are always in enlightenment and can achieve higher CP levels per /played time than someone who plays more often.

As stated by many there is already a catch up mechanism in the game on top of that they just added another catch up method with DB... Training traited gear increases exp gain from mobs as of DB release, before that it just increased your weapon/armor skill leveling.

We don't need it any easier.

they have already made it easier for new players to catch up on CP several times now. You get a CP every time you sneeze anymore until you get around 300 and then it slows a little bit....but even then it is much much much faster than it used to be. People that have more than 501 CP have put A LOT of time into the game- although ZOS seems to not care about those of us that are at or above cap at all with the ridiculously low CP raise they plan for the next DLC.
