ESO needs Dual Spec

So, I'm not sure what a good name for it would be but I'm used to WoW calling it Dual Spec. Basically, it allows you to save skill set ups that you can switch between. For ESO, I'd like to be able to switch between 2 or more champion point and skill point set ups without having to go to a shrine and spend time and gold.

So let's say I have a Stam NB. But I want to also be able to tank sometimes. Sap tanks are the usual choice for NBs but they are magicka focused so champion pt and skill morphs are completely different between a Stam DPS and Magicka Tank. I would like to be able to switch between these on the fly out of combat. All you need is to carry around a second set of gear. I think this would also encourage more folks to try other roles or fix issues where it's taking a long time to replace a tank or healer who dropped group.

Yeah, at the moment is sort of discourages experimenting with Builds and such as well as being versatile in role as it costs so much to change your setup.

True but maybe they could charge gold to unlock the 2nd, 3rd, etc. set up slots.

I dont want any dual spec system copied from other game.

What i would really love howrever, is dual class system similar to Guild wars 1 and double the amount of ability slots.

This is why we have alts though.
    • Characters were created to give your gameplay something to embody.
    • Alts were created because people wanted to be able to embody more than one character.
    • Races were created because people wanted their embodiment to be visually and culturally different.
    • Roles and classes were created because people wanted different styled gameplay of embodiment on each character.
    • Builds were created because people wanted to be able to have different embodiment on one character.
    • Any system designed to change embodiment was created to allow players to experiment with their embodiment's easier.
    • Rpgs are created for players that like to experience embodiment's in every sense of the word.
    • Mmos are created to allow persistent progressive embodiment which last far longer than offline games.
    • Games are usually created iterative-ly to increase the enjoyment of players with the concepts the games before it set as standards.
    • Games like WoW created a standard of dual specs for games which encourage you to play multiple alts.
    • Games like Final Fantasy created a standard of on the fly class, skill, and gear changes for game which encourage you to experience story, roles, and progression one one character, which the busywork could become daunting for a game like that without it.
    • Dual Specs is a standard designed by previous companies that realized alt playing with no re-spec is cumbersome when experimenting with embodiments and the purpose of a standard is not to fiddle with the busy work.
    • Companies try to design their games with some novelty to draw players in, but if no standards are met just to call yourself 100% original but it is not enjoyable or loaded with cumbersome features, then you get people leaving in droves, which is what happens when a game releases in bad shape or ignores every standard.

    11. I usually pay attention to the plots and stuff on my main, and ignore it on my alts lol (unless said alt experiences something my main did and cannot)
    12. And yet Zenimax gives us conveniences to ENcourage alt usage for this and other reasons. Actually, they just cater to alts lol
    13. Thing is some games set their OWN standards as well. It's honestly nice to see ESO not try to be WoW, Final Fantasy, or any other game for that matter by outright copying their "standards".

A system outside combat, story, or presentation is not trying to be anybody else lol. Now If ESO got rid of the champion system, removed swappable skill lines and went with classes only, changed the combat from what it is now to tab target mmo standard that would be ESO being like other games.

The combat system and different race passives is probably the only reason I choose this over XIV. Unique Combat and progression is the most important to me. I think ESO has the best overall story of any mmo, but there is not enough different story experiences on multiple playthroughs which I think Swtor and FFXIV handle better than this game.

Yeah I've been wanting this for a while. Two or three saved specifications on each character, for me it would a pve DPS set up, a pve Tank set up and if your allowed a third, a pvp setup.

If they're worried about losing the gold sink, just charge in game gold for a new spec slot.

My guess is that if they let us be this versatile, most of us would only need four characters (one for each class) and we wouldn't pay money to buy more than 8 slots.

I would love this kind of versatility in my character build, but unfortunately I'm not very optimistic that ZOS would implement it.

I think you're describing something other than dual spec? You're talking being able to lock and create our item sets(like switching equips)
Because skill point wise we can already dual spec we just have to change gear one by one(something I agree should be changed)

I dont think we should be allowed to have dual champion point systems. Its only 3000 gold to change them

or zero if you're a magicka user.

not to mention making it easier for people to be tanks/heal means more tanks/heal around in general (aka faster queues).

alts aren't a solution, not unless they make achievements account wide. heck I wouldn't mind having a complete clone of my char that uses the same questlog etc. and just is a different class while contributing to the same achievements. can't be that hard...

On PS4 EU at least the only thing that seems high demand is healers. I get instant queues with dps and I got the same with tanks and it might have even been slower as a tank. One thing I noticed while I was tank is that my groups had more of a success rate lol. I only stopped at level 50 because I was worried I'd no longer be viable

There is already addons for this, I don't see the point of it. I'd rather get the games core mechanics optimized and fixed first.

How do we already have dual spec with skill points? You have to change them at a shrine. No, I'm talking about having your skill point and champion point allocations "saved" in configurations that can be switched between with a click of a button no matter where you are. I'm not talking about items. On PC, we have addons for that, console definitely needs that though.

I've been wanting to see something where you could change CP configs, attribute points, and morphs (not skill pts obviously; too OP) on the fly while playing without having to constantly pay gold to reset your points. Let's say you want to change from a templar healer to a templar tank. It would be nice to have 10 second cast ability (so you cant change it too quickly in Cyrodiil) that can't be used in combat so you can easily change your configurations. Automatically, your attributes could change from 64/0/0 to 32/0/32, CP changes from healing optimization to tanking optimization, and skill morph changes for skills instantly. In this way, you could easily change your roles. This would be really useful for people like me who run with different PvP / PvE builds and have to go out of their way to change morphs or even roll entirely new chars for the sake of optimization.

I would be really interested in ZOS implementing this.
