How long does it take to unlock vigor?

I''ve started to play another character and realize I need this ability. My main almost never played PvP yet somehow has every assault and support skill unlocked although only 1/2 of the first two of each passive. I don't quite understand how those skills were unlocked but it definitely wasn't via the normal experience grind because I couldn't have played more than 24 hours in cyrodiil total.

Are there any shortcuts to obtaining vigor? I could care less about every other pvp ability barrier too.

End the tedious inventory management game.

Just follow zerg during prime like 90% of all other players. This kind of PvP is totally *** but for your needs good enough ...

For someone with very little PvP experience and just following a zerg.... like 4-5 hours.

Strong players with experience can rack up the required AP in an hour or less though.

Last night I did some pvp to level (trying to unlock magicka det on a new character).

In about 3.5 hours I received approx 35k AP.

I ran with a large group, in that time we captured 2.5 keeps (half of one was to steal a scroll), defended 3, captured a scroll. Here's the breakdown.

    Defense ticks were 2,000-2,500 AP.
    Keep captures were about 600AP.
Scroll Capture is 750AP (If you have the quest, otherwise it's 0)
2 Bounty's turned in (1 survey and 1 kill 20 sorcs) give 1,000 AP each.
Repairs on walls gives 52AP per repair. I got about 20,000 AP from repairs.
The rest was from player kills, probably about 3,000-4,000AP.

I think what I found most odd, capture keeps/resources is the least valuable to get AP. Doing a bounty survey where you just go to a location and press X pays out more. Even pays out more than helping to capture a scroll.

Quicker than the amount of time you are spending thinking about it...lol. Or at least that was the case for me.

I got get a good group of people or join a good raid then just take a bunch of resources. If you're good at strategy you can definitely use a pug to grind AP quickly. It's pretty fun if you can get past the lag.

I had to have been doing something wrong then. Or at least when I was actually trying I was.

Playing my recently new Nightblade I went into a Campaign, decided to go through the introduction/training quests, spend some time with the Guild in the Imperial City Sewers and viola, got my Assault up to 3. Then when I actually decided to grind out the rest to get Vigor, it felt like it was taking FOREVER. I went into Azura's and tried to hitch hike whenever there were a large group of other Pact players and it took me two or three nights of frustrating PvP to get the last two ranks.

But like Slayer pointed out, different aspects of PvP award different amounts of Alliance Points. My advice would be to find yourself a campaign dominated by your Alliance so you can use all the Transitus Shrines, and then do as many Scouting missions you can, and if there are people going at it in the Imperial City then go to the Arena District and do Bounty missions.

half hour to a few days. depends on how fast youx can get the alliance points.

it's not too bad if you do it here and there. I e enjou pvp but the hardest part about it for me is getting booted on every single defensive tick becaus of the lag. Sucks when you log in and find out the game kicked you right when it awarded your group 20k ap.

I've just done this on a new character, took around 3 hours to get it.

I don't spec myself for pvp so I just hang back with a bow and try to take part in as many keep battles as possible.

You could probably double the AP if you just spammed healing springs on an ongoing battle.
