I just started a random dungeon and got a group for WGT and unfortunately everyone left so now I'm penalized with a 14min wait time. So now I can't do a random dungeon for the exp reward (my original intention) which means waiting for the timer to run out by doing random things like pokemon go.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Please pass this to the dev team this really needs to change penalty times have never worked in any game, a prime/recent example is Halo; it just doesn't work because although you're trying to stop players from quitting they will always do so which leaves the other party penalized.

    The penalty timers seem to work in SWTOR. But they're targeted at those who abuse the system, not at those who are screwed by others.

    should have never been implemented. this iis what happens when zos listens to the crybaby trash. :(

    I'm sure they've seen our feedback, Kinds hope they mention it in the next esolive.

    sadly this system is stupid but coupled with the stupid idea of not having set classes only queuing for dungeons.. tanks tanking healers healing and dps doing damage.. 8/10 dungeons fail anyway because of the ridiculous idea in the first place... they need to fix that issue first then sort out the issues of penaltys... example! 2 hours ago I queued as a dps other dps is dps Templar is healing as he should tank sadly is mage that has queued as a tank so he gets kicked cause we are dying for fun... tank was the leader of the group I get lead after kick but then cant que for 4 minutes because of the stupid penalty system heals leaves group fails!!! THIS MUST HAPPEN ALL THE TIME!!

    Don't forget the timer is also triggered when the group finder breaks and puts you into a group of two...

    I also had the other day where after a 1-2hour wait for a dungeon finally get a group go to enter (BUGS OUT) I end up getting stuck in the world so I get booted from group :( THEN I GET A 14min PENALTY FOR IT) WTF ESO ??
